Bulls went for the big tickets FAs and failed miserably. Although my guess is that we were closer to land Conley or Wade than Garpax will ever be (right, sportcrazy?). Also managed to keep Moore at a reasonable price and signed Chalmers as a stop gap rotation PG. It seems like he had an under the radar efficient season with Memphis. We also keep flexibility for 2017 and give our deep roster of young guys the opportunity to develop around Butler. I would expect some trading before training camp to potentially consolidate

So I've missed the last few days with no internet. But I'm happy with the off-season regardless. It's about as good as the Pelicans could realistically have had. Pay Jrue more money this year to keep him cheaper long term. Dump Asik and keep value deals of Qpon and Ajinca. Greg Monroe is a worthwhile gamble. And if it doesn't work out, another top 5 pick would give the Pelicans plenty of talent.

Didn't cap out the team like the real Pelicans and have nothing but great contracts going forward. Paying the core of AD, Jrue, Buddy 40 million combined. And will be more than 50 million under the cap for next season. Wish I would have been around to grab more bargain bin FA, but I'm very happy with just the Asik move (while not giving up more than a 2nd), trading out Reke for Monroe as an awkward fit guy to take a gamble on and extending Holiday.

Summary
Using capspace now to get Holiday for 50 million over 3 past this season is the biggest move for me. Dumping Asik is nice as well I guess. Goal is flexibility and not overpaying or putting a ceiling on the team like the real Pelicans. Only good contracts or expiring ones.

Roster:
Jrue Holiday/Tim Frazier
Buddy Hield/Alonzo Gee
Quincy Pondexter/James Ennis/Luke Babbit
Anthony Davis/ Dante Cunningham / Cheick Diallo
Greg Monroe/ Alexis Ajinca

I agree with Pelifan. I look forward to expanding on this mock next year. Thank you for coming up with the idea and keeping everything so well organized and on track.

Edit: My wife is not as excited as I am for next year's offseason but she was very accommodating to my "new GM job". Can I put you down as a reference when I add this to my resume?

Bazemore and Noel add some much needed defense to the starting lineup. Personally I think Baze is a better fit than Crabbe. Your bench is also much improved and better balanced. Well done!

The Grizzlies and Pistons have come to a trade agreement.

Grizzlies receive SF/SG Reggie Bullock

Pistons receive a 2017 second round pick via Miami and a 2019 second round pick via Brooklyn

Grizzlies Roster Update

PG: M. Conley, T.Wroten, W. Baldwin IV
SG: T. Allen, A. Morrow, J. Adams
SF: R. Bullock, G. Green,
PF: Z. Randolph, J. Green, J. Martin, D. Davis
C: M. Gasol, M. McGary

The Grizzlies will places waivers on SG/SF Vince Carter and renounce his rights. The Grizzlies will also sign their new rookies Wade Baldwin IV and Deyonta Davis to their respective contracts to complete their roster unless a late addition happens to come up.

This game as a GM was a learning curve for me. I was not familiar with all the legal and salary rules as to set a team up. As a result, my roster did not come to fruition as I hope. Outside of the Mike Conley signing, this Grizzlies roster is mediocre compare to the real life Grizzlies team with the recent upgrades they were able to accomplish. With Coach Fizdale's expertise in player development, I'm taking a chance on him to help develop both rookies Baldwin and Davis as well as Bullock and McGary as they have played in limited minutes with their previous teams in hopes they will be able to turn into solid contributors for the Grizzlies.

I also want to thank sportscrazy for inviting me to play in this offseason game. I look forward to improve greatly in the next game and have better success than I did in this game.

It definitely was but I'd still do that Noel trade in real life since its basically replacing Bazemore with Turner.

Thanks so much, guys. I really think considering how last second thrown together this all was, it went really well. I hope version 2.0 goes even better with the mentioned improvements. You guys did awesome!

I tried very hard to be realistic, and I thought you drove a hard, but fair bargin. After striking out on Whiteside Noel was really my top target besides a 3-D wing who was a little more polished than Crabbe. One of the things from the outset was that I was determined to keep as many of the Neil Olshey guys (as he loves his own picks) as possible, I managed to keep meyers, Aminu, and CJ while giving up Crabbe. I felt that was about the right compromise.
