You're totally wrong. Melo wanted a buyout, Phil wanted a trade.

Phil Jackson wants to get something back for one of his best players and Carmelo Anthony wants to control his future, even if it means he has to leave the Knicks.

Jackson has been dead set against buying out Anthony — who owns a no-trade clause — or waiving him via the stretch provision.

You actually agree with Phil. And apparently Dolan/Mills agree with Phil on this topic as well.

So Begley's report about Phil and Dolan disagreeing on the buyout idea leading to Phil's dismissal are false? Idk, man.

Carmelo isn't going anywhere. Carmelo is probably still on the trade block but I doubt the Knicks are actively trying to trade him. If a team makes a good idea he will be gone. Otherwise he will be here when the season starts.

He is still the best SF they have

Yeah, definitely. I can't seem to find where Begley said it but this is the closest thing I can find.

Melo was a below average player last year, making 26 million dollars. BELOW AVERAGE.
His WS48 was .089 where 1.00 is an average player.

Real talk though, if Melo bought into D'Antoni's system and played PF for them, that's a legit team, Melo is so much better as a spot-up shooter than Anderson, and if necessary he can actually create his own shot
Rockets lose in 5 to the Warriors
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

It would be slap in the face if he buys D'antoni system in different team.

accepting an off ball role to harden and cp3 is a little different than accepting one for tony douglas, mike bibby or jeremy lin.

If he worked well with D'antoni we might be attractive place to be though. Winning cures it all.

we definitely aint winning with those guys dribbling the air out of the rock.

it was just a bad fit for everyone. we tried to run a guard centric offense with guards that sucked.

i mean maybe melo coulda smiled more when dougie missed the open roll man and gave him the ball with 3 seconds left on the clock but the frustration was understandable. for everyone involved.

Not really. If he goes there CP3 and Harden aren't gonna stand around and watch Melo jab step for 20 seconds.

He'll adapt, he'd have to. He'd be the third best player on the team, he'll fall in line.
