No Hayward, Boston in 5 or 6.

No Kyrie or Hayward, not much would surprise me. Either way, East as it stands is as weak as I have ever seen a conference, and I have been watching since like 1981. None of these East teams matter in any way, shape, or form.

You are sorely mistaken my friend.

About what? I'm not even predicting a Boston win in the current series, never mind one vs the Sixers, but we were 3-0 vs you this year before you beat us in the last one with no Kyrie or Hayward. Celts also won both preseason games, including one that you were down by 33 at one point, and shut down Simmons in all 6 of those games.

In case you forgot, there will be no Kyrie and Hayward if you face us. I can also assume you haven't been paying attention to the Sixers, because they are a much better team over the past couple of months than they were when those games occured.

I can't believe you're bringing up preseason  Yeah Sixers went 1-3 against the Celtics (1-2 with Embiid) but we simply aren't the same team we were in the beginning of the season. Even ignoring the improvements to our bench, our 2 best players (transcendent talents) combined for 31 games going into the season. They've grown together exponentially and Boston will find that out the hard way if they make it past the Bucks.

Out of the two choices, Boston or Milwaukee, I slightly prefer Milwaukee. Boston is too well coached. I don't want yet another extremely well coached, physical team in the next round ala Miami Heat.

Baynes and Horford would clog the paint and make it tough for Ben and Jojo. But if Sixers can contain Jaylen and don't underrate Tatum and Rozier ob offense, Sixers has a good chance of outscoring the Celts in a 7 game series.

Horford probably guarded Embiid in the regular season better than anybody else in the East did, but I agree. Once the mask comes off soon Joel will be eating down low.

Unfortunately, if I had to guess, I don't think that mask is coming off till next season.

I prefer Milwaukee. Feels like Sixers can outscore their inferior bench. That and the HC would be favorable

I would say Philly beats either team in 5 games, just against milwaukee there would be more blowouts.

Pretty sure my first post reflected an understanding that Kyrie and Hayward will miss these playoffs, lol.

Philly isn't bad, but I think you are overvaluing their late season performance, when they mopped up on a bunch of bad or middling teams, many of whom were trying to lose on purpose to improve their draft position.

Either way, been watching way too long to be concerned in any way with any of the Eastern playoff teams. Golden State will either survive Houston or they won't. No other teams are worthy of any consideration at all.

To be fair, I thought Baynes did a really good job defending Embiid in the first three match ups. In fact, the guy is probably the most underrated defensive center in the league (top 3 defensively along with Gobert and Embiid) and is a key part of that #1 defense that the Celtics have. On offense, it's like playing 4 against 5 and hence his small role.

Embiid is a beast and far and away Philly's best player, but yeah. Not sure why the #1 defense with a top 2-3 coach would have no possibility of defensive answers.

Are they still the #1 defense if you only include games with Kyrie out of the lineup? On paper Kyrie is an average defender this year but with everyone else having to exert themselves that much more offensively I'm skeptical they are still #1 in defense with him out of the lineup.

I think this one is going 7, not sure who is going to win though. Boston has actually done one of the better jobs this year on guarding Simmons and Embiid, Simmons has a TS% of 49% and Embiid has a 45%. Simmons has also turned it over a lot vs Boston as well. Boston has a lot of guys they can throw at Simmons with Smart, Brown, Tatum, Semi and Horford. Then with Embiid they have Horford and Baynes who do as good of a job as anyone against him. They also have the athletes to run around with Philly's shooters and those athletes have really good size.

The big question for Boston is are they going to get enough scoring 4 times. I think if Boston can get 4 good offensive games from 3 of the 4 (Brown, Tatum, Rozier, Horford), theyre going to win the series. Im just not sure theyre going to get that though. So right now I think Im going Philly in 7 but who knows. Either way I think its going to be a tight series because of Boston's defense and Stevens.

A healthy Celtics team beats the Sixers in 5. But Sixers beat the Celtics B team that is playing now.

My word. The Sixers are meeting the Celtics in the second round and have a 2018 high draft pick (from Suns in MCW trade?). Hinkie's got Rocky status in Philly.

Philly over Boston in 6. Will be a good series. The games definitely won't be as lopsided as they were between Philly and Miami.
