Re: Official Frank Ntilikina Thread
Let’s say the KP trade didn’t happen. I think if Mavs this summer offered Dennis for Frank, it would have happened. I have a little problem with that, although I don’t hate Dennis.

Re: Official Frank Ntilikina Thread
i can't think of any trades that are realistic and worth doing for Frank
who could we get for him when his value is so low that would be smart for us?
you simply dont trade him

Too hypothetical imo. Does KP trade didn't happen mean KP's views about team construction/coaching get taken into account? Does the "this summer" assume that KD comes (there would be space - just need to stretch Courtney if you can't trade either him or Timmy) - or are you imagining the same Knicks roster as prior to the trade (minus expirings? Kanter?) and a Frank/DSJ trade. It's all so undefined I don't think you are saying anything other than, maybe, the FO+Flat have a preference for ball pounders.

I'm resolutely higher than anyone else on the board re Frank (even mpharris
But what I believe the Frank-traders think is reasonable is to trade him into (a team with) cap-space for future 2nd round picks and free up the $4.85m+ of salary. That would allow you to keep Trier and Dot even if you hit #1 . So if you think Trier+Dot is a better starting point than Frank for your gaudy 2/3 all-star team then .. bleh .. go ahead.
Btw, if you don't end the summer with a gaudy 2/3 all-star team then the KP trade looks completely ridiculous.

I'm resolutely higher than anyone else on the board re Frank (even mpharris). I think trading him would be criminal under every circumstance (in play) other than it was the single deal breaker for the Pels in a trade for AD. (Eg, I don't include him in a trade for Wall, Beal, etc).

Because the alternative was instead of KD+KI+AD to have KD+KP+AD. Which is obviously better. If you have man management skills. Which the Pills don't. See, eg, essentially every big man that has passed through the Knicks doors in the period up to the KP trade (excepting the very green Mitch).

We don't have a game plan on either end that he needs to get reacquainted with.
i'm hoping it has more to do with how he physically responds to full speed action.
Standing in the corner isn't very full of speed.

Yeah just put Frank out there. The guys don’t look practiced much — as far as a cohesive team — and it’s not like we are saving him ... or need a win.

Fiz doesn't want Frank. The team pretty much gave up on him. My guess is he may not see a minute for the rest of the year and be shipped in the summer.

you all live in your own worlds.
You don't have to interpret anything. Durant already told you Fridette is the best scorer in the world. You can live in that world.
I’d use better examples then Kevin Durant on Twitter. he tends to act up on there.
but that’s just me.
You mean like Donovan Mitchell sugar coating a friend in his draft class? I totally get it.

Re: Official Frank Ntilikina Thread
Even if you don't like Frank, it's pretty obvious the coach and the front office haven't given him a fair shake since he got drafted. It's not even that Fiz hates the kid personally, it just seems like he doesn't like his type of game. I mean, why else does he have a longer leash on Knox, Mudiay, etc. Guys that aren't the most efficient on offense but are pretty aggressive at pushing the pace of the game. Frank's too passive for Fiz, too tentative and Fiz probably doesn't like his decision making or lack thereof, which is why he's not played at PG. Coaches have to trust their PG and he doesn't trust Frank, which to me is unfair since this is a lose-lose situation for the Knicks.
This just isn't the right team for Frank and I believe that another team patient enough to develop him will reap the rewards, just like the Nets with Russell.

And if Mitchell said the opposite about Frank, you would have taken his word as gospel. But because he said something you didn't like, Mitchell's not a credible source. This board's too predictable.
I mean, yes, the reality is Frank had a very disappointing sophomore season, and that's on him as well as the coaches, but to say that players complimenting Frank are just sugarcoating when he did show promise his rookie year. That's just hating on the kid. What about what Mitchell said that Frank played well against him last year was a lie? Did it not happen?

It would be a huge mistake getting rid of Frank. He’s going to be such a valuable asset to our team if or when we get good. From the small sample size we have, it seems as if he plays better in big games or close games. When he’s locked in and not thinking a million mph he plays much better.

I've never posted or cared about tweets like people here do. I don't care what another player has to say about our players, just like I don't gauge potential acquisitions by how they played against us. Why? Because it's crazy flawed. I use the eye test. This year Frank hasn't passed the eye test at all. YES, he played well against Donovan last year. But to hear Donovan, yes, sugarcoat Frank based on something he did one time against him a year ago, even as Donovan clearly sees how gross Frank looks today, doesn't budge the needle. And to post the tweet as if it should give us pause is absurdity.

I hate the way Fiz used Frank this year when he was healthy. The kid should of been playing 30+ minutes when he was healthy and he was barely playing. Fiz hates euro players.

At this point, it's starting to seem like Fiz is intentionally trolling this kid.

Idk about the euro part b/c he did start Mario some. But you’re right about how he used Frank when he was healthy.
I hope he goes to a team that will go through the growing pains. There’s a very impactful player if he can put it together.
