I have so many threads, twitter pages, and chat pages open, I didn't even see this thread until now

Words can't describe how it feels right now. I'll collect my thoughts later

So is there any belief that Durant will play toward the end of this season? Or will Nets just hold him out the entire year?

I wouldn't expect him to play next season at all, especially with how cautious our performance team is

The Nets will gladly let him rehab the entire year.

Only if he’s 110%.

I thought I read O’Malley or some other surgeon talk about how the recovery time with modern science can now be 8-10 months. If that’s true and if he’s good to go, the end of the season could be a warmup for the playoffs.

But if he’s only ready once the playoffs start, I want him to just wait out the year. No need to try to regain his rhythm during the most strenuous time of the year.

Great signing!!! Now bring back Dudley to keep the locker room steady.
He can play that power forward when you need him, stand up and fight when it's needed and most importantly he's a great veteran.

Sign Dudley to the veteran minimum please.
Go Brooklyn Nets!!

My gut tells me he may come back in late in March if we're a playoff team. He may be limited for the post season, but even 15-20mpg is worthwhile.

I still haven't fully processed the fact that KD will be part of our team for the next 4 years.

Absolutely elated. KD is the type of talent needed to win chips in the NBA.

BK's first true superstar since Jackie... this is a historic day.

Not afraid to admit that I was one of those guys thinking that KD would never really consider us as a landing spot lol. But damn, I'm excited. Obviously there's till the big elephant in the room in KD's Achilles injury. But I think that the team can afford to have him out for most of, if not, all of this season. Gives the young guys a chance to continue growing.

I've probably made thousands of unrealistic trades in 2K since 2k12 (Kyrie's rookie year) to make Kyrie/KD super teams. Marks done did it for real.

welcome to nets kevin, so glad for him to sit out the entire year, its pointless to rush back from such a serious injury and be ready to go in oct 2020.

Kevin Durant, the Kevin Durant, the one and only rival to LBJ as the best player on the planet.... the two time champion, former MVP, finals MVP, the Kevin Durant.... is your Brooklyn Nets player....

WOW.... this ish won't sink in for a long ass time!!!!!

To the future!

Obviously there's no certainty and no 2 players are alike, but at age 34 Kobe came back in 9 months. Cousins is probably 100 pounds heavier than Durant (which makes it a harder rehab) and he came back in 12 months. He was doing drills in September (8 months) and I believe got cleared for practice in Oct/Nov. https://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/DeMarcus-Cousins-could-begin-team-practice-with-13257826.php

Nobody knows how KD's rehab will go but I think the "out all of next year" talk right now is just to set expectations low. It wouldn't shock me if there are "KD starting to practice with the team" rumors in March/April (around 9-10 months).
