Bump.

I thought he was taking an unnecessary risk by turning down that contract. He knew better. If he stays healthy he'll make at least 80 million, maybe even 100, based on so many teams having cap space next year.

He bet on himself and it looks like he was right.

The Bill Simmons approach - bet on yourself! Love it!

Wait he bumped himself like what a plus 5 million on his annual contract max?.. good scorer but 60 mill 4 year guy is a stretch..

That's a smart move, some team will throw 17/18m at him. He's young, can defend, shoot, and dribble.
A team like Dallas would love him

He is like 22, plays really active defense, has a great motor, is an elite 3PT shooter on high volume and has developed a pump-fake-3-dribble-pull-up already.

He is getting 18M+ AV.

If I’m the Pels I find a way to get him as their starting 2.

You're crazy. Joe Harris got 70 and Davis Bertans got 80. Trent Jr is better than both of them, while still being college age. Barring injury he'll break the bank.

OG Anunoby also got 4yr/72M, so Trent is probably getting at least 70M.

These days, 44% from 3 is worth 15 mill.

The only team I could see throw him a decent-sized contract are the Knicks. They need shooting at the starting 2. Help space the floor for Barrett and Randle.

You really think the Knicks are the only team that would want to pay a college senior aged SG who hits like 44% of his 3's on high volume and isnt a defensive liability?

Bertans got 80M despite being like 28 and a turnstile.

I'd love to see him on the Lakers.

And Bogdonovic and Gallinari just got paid 70 mil and 60 mil just to play off the bench. there are teams that are gonna pay the dude, whether they have a starter already or not.

OG is a big 3+D forward, which is a commodity in the league. I dont really see the difference between Gary Trent Jr and Norm Powell, and i would hate to give Norm that kind of money

I just meant with the cap room they will have this coming off-season. I'm sure there are quite a few teams who would love to have him.

u think there are any scenario's where the blazers dont match a trent contract in free agency? They have so much other $$$ invested already. I think their cap hit for next year is already at 130 mil, which is pretty much the luxury tax threshold and way over the salary cap already.
