This kid's vision is elite and game changing. He is an NBA talent regardless of size.

Thomas (who's still only 31!) shot 42%FG / 32%3pt / 71%FT.

But Cooper is on another level: 39%FG / 23%3pt / 82%FT.

These numbers are not cut it in the NBA. He has to improve A LOT.

Cooper is talented, maybe even a late lottery pick (just takes 1 team to make it happen), but his shooting (and improvement) will seal his fate, potential-wise.

That said, I like him, seems like he could be a very good backup PG at least.

Thomas shot 29% his freshman year - apples to apples. Cooper is only a freshman and has plenty of time to improve.

Cooper is going to shoot up draft boards if true IMO. If he can show some improvement in his jumper it's warp.

I don't believe that measurement for a second.

The height was mistakenly reported. They copy pasted someone else’s measurable there (Bouknights I think)

yea it doesn't make any sense, there is no way unless they are actually are measuring the hair (which would be dumb af).

One of my favorite prospects in the draft but he is not 6'3.5" without shoes.

Love this kid. Just wish he was a little taller and shot the ball better. But he has what you'd want from a PG.

Me too. I think he has potential to be a starter somewhere down the line.

He'd be ideal to be mentored by Chris Paul! Man do I wish he'd fall to Phoenix at 29. Or otherwise have Phoenix trade up a few spots to secure him. I believe that he even has connections with Paul already. Although I'm not exactly sure what they are yet. But this kid learning from Paul for a couple of years would undoubtedly give him potential all star projection.

Tyus edney for the older folks. Just a really good college guards in a league where guards are getting bigger and the centers getting smaller

sharife cooper will be the steal of the draft

Post#55 » by NotMyKawhi » Thu Jul 15, 2021 8:17 pm

considering where he's projected, it's a homerun imo outside the lottery or even the back end of it.

He didn't shoot well in College but still averaged 20+ points, he'll get better. Everything else is exactly what you want in a PG. I bet he shoots a lot less in the NBA with all the Talent around him % will go up

His passing is off the chart, court vision and IQ off the chart. He'll be top 5 in assits for most of his career.

really wish i would have taken the time to look into his game. Seems to be one of the rather polarizing prospects in the class.

I'm not so sure that Suggs has a higher ceiling than Springer/Cooper/McBride, all of whom are often projected in the 20's or even the 30's. Not that I'm really low on Suggs, but in this draft I think you get better value drafting a wing in the lottery and a guard in the mid-late first, rather than drafting a guard in the lottery and trying to find a wing in the mid-late first.

Yes, he will be a very good offensive player if his shot comes around. There is already a thread about Cooper here: https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2040594&p=92002988&hilit=sharife+cooper#p92002988

yes, 5'11" point guards are all the rage. He is a late 1st talent at best. There isn't a scenario where he becomes a high level starting PG in the NBA.
