This is a good hire by the wolves. Problem is they might be beyond help. But Finch is known to be a good big man coach. They have to do something to maximize Towns.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I think KAT is a lost cause. He is the product of a perennial loser. This the complete opposite of championship DNA.

The Nurse coaching tree continues to grow.

It’s a dead end job! If I’m an assistant who is competitive and wants to win, timberwolves is one of the last place I want to coach for, along with the Pistons, Cavs and Kings. Continual lottery team who can’t win even with THREE first overall picks in the last few years.....

A competitive and knowledgeable coach might view one of situations differently. Maybe they think they can change a ton schemes or whatever that might have a big influence with the results

Like Finch is going to make them better cuz Saunders is just that garbage of a coach! It’ll be somewhat similar to Chicago with Donavan taking over for Boylan. It’s addition by subtraction but a coach can only do so much for an organization that doesn’t develop talent and doesn’t scout well (not that they really needed to over the last years with 3 first overall picks....)

This must have gone down due to the Houston connection with Rosas.

Always figured Finch would be here for a good time, not a long time. He's been on a lot of short-lists.

Silver lining is Finch won't potentially replace someone like Bud in the near future.

Finch must have been getting advice from tWo, and saw the light.

You never know. Finch could literally decide to leave the Wolves for the Bucks coaching job if available. Like who wouldn't.

How many coaches have tried to maximize KAT over his time in the NBA. There are literally hall of fame coaches, former coaches of the year, rookie coaches, etc...but he just doesn't have "it". I think it's all losing culture mentality. Watching the Timberwolves/Raptors game...he was basically sleepwalking the entire game. What a waste of talent.

Contracts usually only allow you to leave for a promotion, so going from one head coaching gig to another is normally shot down by the team.

Couldn't agree more. Kat is not a championship #1 option! He's more of a #2 option that has to play with someone like a LeBron who command respect and effort. Kat just doesn't give a **** enough about winning to actually win anything. There's a reason why Jimmy Butler hated his ass along with Wiggins. The culture on the Timberwolves has and always has been about losing and lack of effort. it makes wonder how Wiggin's career would have been like if he actually got drafted to a team that has a semi decent culture and development team. Wiggins has improved a lot more under the Warriors, but maybe it's too late.

You have to think if you're a good young coach that wants to make it into the NBA. Here is a good place to start.

It's a bit of a blessing and a curse for us.

Are coaches allowed to ask for buyouts?

He was obviously embarrassed by seeing Yuta get dunked on and had to switch sides.
