Looking forward to how they respond to the challenge.
it's attainable. but as far as Ws and Ls, we're beyond playing with house money. i've promised myself i'm not going to trip. who thought we'd get 30 wins for the whole season, let alone have the potential to be a 40-win team?

The margin for error is razor thin. And to add to that:
Knicks have the 6th hardest SOS remaining in the NBA; 2nd hardest in the Eastern Conference (according to Tankathon)
Atlanta is 18th
Boston is 20th
Miami is 21st
Charlotte is 23rd
So yes, the margin for error is razor thin.

K-Dot mentioned in the last NBNF episode that he wasn't following the team yet so he didn't get to experience 2012-13. I feel so bad for him now![]()
When the Knicks are good, the NBA is just different.
Melo was a beast. Mike Woodson also ran a modern offense back then that caught the league completely off guard. The key to our success, sadly, was that Amar'e was hurt, which allowed Woody to play Melo at the 4.
I'll go to my grave saying that the Knicks could've made it to the Finals that year had Melo been healthy for the playoffs. At the very least, we'd have beaten that Pacers team. We were a bad match-up for Miami because they couldn't defend the 3 that season.
I also wish we could find full games of game 1 NYK-BOS, game 2 NYK-IND and game 5 NYK-IND.

if thibs plans on 30 from Rose he should start so he doesn't have to play 15 straight minutes in both halfs.
7-8 mins...rest...7-8 mins halftime
7-8 mins...rest...7-8 mins game over

I keep reading the bolded part, yet I am not certain it is entirely true. Sure, we have to play many tough teams in our remaining games (and there's that dreadful west coast trip waiting in the corner) but this SOS thing doesn't seem to take into account anything else than the record of the teams we play, I feel it completely ignores other variables, such as back-to-backs or injury to key players.
In fact, if you take a closer look at the remaining schedule (at least as displayed in the NBA mobile app) you would see that we only have 3 back-to-backs (counting today's game and tomorrow's) while we would be in the recipient end of 5 teams on their second night of their back-to-back (2 of those are in our own second game in a back-to-back). I believe that's gotta be one of the best ratios of back-to-backs (if that even exists) in the remaining schedule in the league(though I'm too lazy to look out this info for every single team, the only other one I did it for was for the Mavs and they have a worse ratio even though their schedule is supposedly way easier)
I don't know if i have explained myself properly, but the main take is that I feel that our remaining schedule is not as bad as it may seem on paper and this team has already shown they can break expectations so I wouldn't be surprised if we manage to snatch that home-court advantage.
