Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
Who cares. To be honest he's not a Hall of Fame player. He's only there because of LBJ & DWade.

Screw him. I was glad when he left. He'll always be a 3rd banana. Undeserved HOF.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
So this is why there was a random Chris Bosh spotlight video available to watch on my flight home. I thought it was so weird it was there, and it was pretty boring. He had some sick highlights with Miami though. Smoothest jumper from a big man I’ve seen along with Anthony Davis.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
It's such a shame, because I was such a fan of him during his time with the Raptors. He spent 7 years in TO and 6 years in MIA, but not a single mention or anecdote about his time with us. He basically sees us as his low point of his career... an obstacle that he's had to overcome in order to be great in Miami.
The way he's behaved after leaving has really left a sour taste in my mouth. He tries to disassociate his connection with us any chance he gets, so that people would only see him as a Heat. In his eyes, he's simply just too good for us.
He left Toronto to win championships, fair enough. But he's never looked back fondly of his time here. We, as fans, embraced him as our superstar despite never bringing us much success. We appreciated both his hard work and goofy personality and the whole country supported him by voting him as an All-star all those years (even with that silly cowboy campaign). That should mean something to him, but sadly, it doesn't seem that way.
To him, he's Hall of Famer Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat. Him getting inducted to the HOF doesn't mean much to me as a Raptor fan.

Bosh should be thanking Melo because he's the only reason he's in the HOF.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
Kind of weird for a guy that spent the majority of his career here not to really talk about it but I guess it's not overly surprising at the same time.
Bosh has constantly shown he doesn't have fond memories of Toronto. The way he used to talk so candidly about how **** it basically was to play in Toronto was always so odd to me. Bit of an unprofessional/petty trait from a guy that seems pretty media savvy.

You could see James was sitting there thinking - this mf is really not going to mention me?
Also, how the heck is Bosh in the hall of fame? He had a decent career but nothing extraordinary.

Pity votes because he was forced to retire early due to a serious condition.

No surprise here. Makes it even stupider the love some were trying to give him over the past couple of years. This guy shat on the city and the team multiple times. He doesn't even deserve to be put on the jumbotron.
For lease.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
Bosh to me represents why so many of us early Raptors fans carried this "No NBA star one wants to stay/play in Toronto" PTSD. Up until really Demar and Lowry re-signing and the organization proving what we as fans knew that this was a great city and fans to play in front of seeing Bosh walk out and literally forget us in a day after what we went through with Damon, TMac and Vince was my low point as a raps fan. I hated the way he did it with the disrespectful video with D.Wade. He was a punk then and a punk now. As Shaq so correctly said he was indeed the Rupaul of big men.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
I never vaunted him as a real *star*.
Bosh had a nice career, but was never a top 10 player at any point while he was in the league.
A few here reminisce about '06, possibly his best year as a pro. He wasn't skilled enough to do much of anything, aside from being handed the ball at the corner and try to create his own shot. He couldn't really create for others , not a good enough passer and couldn't shoot from outside then either. He was weak in the lower body and got pushed off the spot frequently. He didn't set great screens. He didn't have a good enough handle to start a possession. He was mobile defensively, but if the offensive player had any strength, he would easily go through Bosh.
He was a serviceable first option, okay second and great third option offensively. He expanded his range to include the outside shot when he went to Miami. He had nice rebounding instincts, decent hands and very good foot speed.
In my opinion, he's one of the worst players in the hall of fame, without question. He made it to the second round as a first option. That's a top 8 team. That was his peak. He won, but only as a third fiddle. His career is not worthy of this storybook ending.
He glossed over 54% of his career. Let that sink in. He won't even talk about when he was the first option. He played beside two first-ballot HOFers and Battier and Ray Allen and somehow gets heralded?
There is no way that we retire his jersey. He intentionally tried to snub us, but we are the reason that he wound up where he did.
Objectively, he spent his career scratching at being an All-NBA player. I think he was probably a high teen to low 20th best player in the league during his tenure. Clearly his cowboy antics helped him garner votes into the HOF.

We always knew Rupaul was soft and doesn't show up in the big moments so no surprise. You Tube recommended
his speech but I glossed it over which is kind of sad but I didn't care.

IMO I'm more surprised he never gave any love to Sam Mitchell who really pushed CB4.
I don't think there was a bigger believer in Bosh than Sam Mitchell, he truly believed Bosh could be a superstar.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
Most players want to be associated with a single organization after retirement. It's good for their brand and good for their legacy and Bosh has made his choice. If Bosh is looking to be a team Ambassador, or hopes to be honored at team and fan events, he wants it to be with the Miami Heat.
Can't blame him for being shrewd about it but I hope the Raptors organization doesn't try to woo him just because he's a former Raptor and now a HOFer. I don't need to hear his name associated with the Raptors ever again.

In a few years most fans won’t even remember he existed let alone played on the raptors.

He was the rebound star after Vince got moved. He just didn't pan out. This is why I don't know why people rag on Demar so much. I get it he was limited as a player, but he would have never looked down on us as a franchise. Years later when he retires he will still talk up Toronto anywhere he goes. That's respect.

Re: Chris Bosh Hall of Fame Speech
He evicted his own mother out of one of his mansions, you guys think he would even care to mention his time with us?
He's just one of those guys, most of you should have known, remember when he turned on the city like immediately after leaving and started insulting it? lol

How many 11 time NBA all stars aren't in the Hall of Fame?
