Maxey
Thybulle

So Shake and Tobias (a player that's resoundingly hated around here) is going to yield an allstar in Sabonis? I don't see it.

I love when Pompey is posted to /r/nba because it gives the rest of the NBA fans a brief insight into the **** articles we have to endure throughout the season (and, honestly, offseason too).

Congratulations! I think Ben could learn something here about being committed ;)

Anyway:

Rockets: Ben Simmons
Us: Gordon, Theis, Christopher, 1st rnd (protected to 10)

Hawks: Ben
Us: Taxi Driver Rooster, Dieng, Reddish, 1st round pick

DGAF. Ben is gone I’m waiting like a kid on his birthday anticipating whether the present is sh*thouse or not lmao

Rockets shouldn't even waste their time with us. They have the blueprint to dominate the league in a year or two:

PG- Christopher
SG- Porter
SF- Green
PF- Wood or Garuba
C - Sengun

The backcourt is stacked (at least 2 of the three will pan out) and if the big men don't pan out, Wall's contract is off the books by then. They'll have cap flexibility to land a big fish.

I don't see any need to add a PF who thinks he's a PG.

I actually see it the other way, Wall off the books, they have a gaping whole as a capable facilitator which Ben most of the time is. Like an overpaid super green.

Lot of iso not a lot of team orientated play.

KPJ, Green, Christopher don’t work together (iso, no defense) hence why I think Christopher will be like a super six man and might follow the Harden path. Not saying he’s anywhere near Harden moreso the role. He does have All Star tangibles

Now:
Green
KPJ
Martin
Simmons
Wood

Augustine will have a good year for them most likely setting up the younger players.

Pompey's probably in favor of any trade that opens up a roster spot for Jamal Crawford.

The Pacers stuff does make the most sense to me. If Morey can get something like Brogdon, Levert and a pick or two for Simmons he should take that and run. I imagine Indy doesn't want to give up much draft compensation and Morey isn't getting the slam dunk star player in return he was hoping for but I really think Brogdon would pair well with Embiid and Levert is pretty solid when he's healthy.

Not sure how I feel about a team with Joel Embiid on it adding two guys that may be more injury prone than he is.

I'm 100% out on dealing with Indy unless Sabonis is coming back and going to a third team for a guard.

Brogdon and Levert are just as injury prone as Joel is. There would be no more than 35 games each season, including playoffs, that all 3 would be available.

Brogdon and Levert are a perfectly acceptable set of players with the right skill sets, but I want two FRP in addition since both have significant injury histories and are older than Simmons and less contract surety since he is locked in for four years. The picks compensate for those issues and allow us to cover if one of them gets hurt or to make future moves to shore up the roster through draft or trade. Give us that and they pass their physicals and I would be deal done, with perhaps a smaller deal or two to follow later for a longer, more versatile and younger SF than Danny Green using what would be a backcourt surplus at that point.

Which of the superstar trades in NBA history is the closest to Ben Simmons for Malcolm Brodgon, Caris Levert, and a 1st? First thing that came to my mind was Shaq for Lamar Odom, Caron Butler, Brian Grant, and a future first.

Oh my god. Just listening to this now for the first time. Did nobody say "hey Keith, maybe we should attempt the ad read a different way"? Is it just him running that show?

Toronto is a good trading partner. Send Simmons to the raptors for OG and Dragic. Both teams can add fillers but these are main assets. OG is only 23 and might be better than Ben in the long run. Dragic gives us that transitional pg for at least one year til we figure out a solution. Let Maxey come off the bench and learn being a distributor.

Our starting line up would be much improved with Joel-Tobias- OG Anouby- Danny Green- Dragic. Seth off the bench is instant offense.

OG is a terrific talent and improves each year. His 3 is reliable. Raptors could use one more star, especially considering very few players want to play in Canada. Ben fills that bills. Plus they love Scottie Barnes and plays SF too. So, OG is replaceable for them.

I don't really want Sabonis.

I like Harris better. He's more mobile, can handle the ball, and is capable of knocking down 3's. Levert and Brogdon plus a couple of picks is intriguing we'd be taking a chance but if Brogdon and Levert stay healthy we win the trade so there is upside.

No thanks to OG.

Taking back a 3 and D wing as a centerpiece of any deal is nuts to me and I don't really share your optimism about his future development. I mean he is basically maxed out for the role he plays I don't really see him ever developing into a guy who can be 2nd or 3rd leading scorer on a championship team.
