I'd say Giannis being the unquestioned number 1 and winning finals MVP in the fashion he did trumps any accomplishments of Tony, Manu, and Pau in the playoffs.

There are lots of bigger issues with this list to complain about but just to pick a small one - personally i don't see how you look at these three names and put Noah last.

23. Karl-Anthony Towns (Dominican Republic)
24. Nikola Vucevic (Montenegro)
25. Joakim Noah (France)

Even apart from his NBA career (DPOY, 2 x all-star) Noah won 2 NCAA titles. Am I the only one who thinks that peak Noah was a far more impactful player than either Towns or Vuc?

I wondered if this list wasn't right until I read the methodology. Whta's factored in is what is done to date and heavily NBA weighted, so to me this list makes sense.

Though we factored in FIBA accomplishments some, we put way more stock on what players did while competing against the very best (that is, in the NBA). And, of course, the focus is on what they achieved and not what they could have done if A, B or C had happened. Facts over speculation.

And this is based on careers. I mean... you can't say Embiid is top ten when he's a third through his career. That's ridiculous.

Sabonis is too low on the list. He wasn't allowed to play in the NBA until way past his prime, but I'd never pick prime Horford over prime Sabonis. but I guess if the criteria is weighed toward NBA performance, it makes sense.

I'm still looking for Kobe...

Haha yup.

KAT: Born and raised in the US, never lived in a different country either than the US. International player
Kobe: Lived in Italy for 10 years from the age of 3 to 13. Domestic player

Makes a ton of sense...

What is the putative basis for calling KAT international? I have never before heard him described as anything other than American or heard any facts about him that suggest a ground to categorize him otherwise — though I gather there must be something there, right?

His mother is from the Dominican Republic. When he was 16 years old the National Dominican team offered him a spot on the senior National team and he took it.

But yes he’s was born and raised in New Jersey and has only lived in the US in his life.

I *think* he had duel citizenship or something. But it's pretty stupid imo to call him international because of that.

Oscar Schmidt, Nikos Galis, Juan Carlos Navarro, Dejan Bodiroga, and Vassilis Spanoulis are all ranked way too low. If the list is weighed objectively, they would each have to be much higher than they are.
