Boucher I'm not sure yet(he could go piece for piece - bench big for bench guard), but you put Boucher and Dragic together and I'm looking at someone like Cleveland with a year on Kevin Love to net draft picks.

Which is a reason you take Dragic's salary, because you can work above the cap and trade it for bad contracts, or anyone.

If dragic eventually gets bought out there will be a ton of ppl saying "i told you so" and "why didnt we do that from the start". I don't get that perspective. He's in our back pocket. Even if there's a small chance something materializes (ie salary filler in a big trade)....why wouldn't we wait and see? What's the downside in waiting?

I also think there's a tendency to undervalue what we have in precious. He's already far out-peforming his contract. How much would we have to pay on the open market for his contributions? Maybe around 8 million? We're getting him for a cap hit of 2 and he's locked in 2 more years (albeit at an increasing cap hit but it's still gonna be significantly below market value).

Small market teams NEED below market value contracts to be good in thus league. We got 3 in precious, delano and barnes. Hopefully we can add another one for 4 years in the next draft. OG and Fred are also decent contracts. All bodes well.

Chris Finch would also know him well. It is too bad that the guys I like for Toronto might not make sense in a deal.

Jarred Vanderbilt is a perfect for the Raps as a defensive PF,C. Too bad he has such a good cheap deal.

Same issue with Naz Reid. If Boucher magically starts hitting 3s he might intrigue them. Problem with is he is unrestricted next year making him hard to value.

Just hope we get another center prospects. We're not in a position to make a "championship" level move yet.

They can get us a SRP and Masai can turn that into a Dalano-level player.

they got some good young talent that would fit the team. Jaden Mcdaniels, Jarred Vanderbilt and Naz Reid. Dont know why they would trade that for boucher

Well I cannot envision a straight swap of Dragic for 19 mil of returning multiple contracts. I could see Raps dealing Dragic straight up to say Houston for Eric Gordon's longer deal to solidify the bench. I do not think there is a contender destination for Dragic without us piling up contracts that make no sense. Ditto throwing money away in a buyout. Eric Gordon as load managed shooter off the bench.

Fred/Gary/Barnes/OG/Paskal

Yuta

Banton/Gordon/SVI/Birch/Precious

Boucher and Flynn...? Jeremy Lamb and a second rounder.

Who are we trading to get Barton? He's a shooting guard last I checked, I don't think he can play the 1.

Believe he meant Banton, but that doesn't make either of the above trades more realistic.

Towns' shooting would be super helpful for this team.

This is the most competitive the Wolves have been since Butler was on the team, there's no way they're trading Towns for the likes of Boucher. And yeah his shooting would be helpful, but we'd have to give up so much just to get him.

I love vanderbilit. He's an unknown but he's a great defensive player. All-defence level.

I'll do boucher for Vanderbilit and contract filer

Boucher for Jalen Smith + 2nd from phx has to be on the table. Makes sense from both sides.
We get a young prospect, phx actually upgrades their big rotation with the addition of Boucher.

I get the feeling that no one will touch Dragic's big contract this year so he probably gets bought out after the trade deadline. Boucher is on a very reasonable contract, and it's easy to see how multiple teams can talk themselves into Boucher. This is pretty much the same situation as Norm a year ago. Of course Boucher isn't on Norm's level as an impact player, but I believe he can really help a contender (say the Suns?)

Although Smith has been a failure for Phoenix, It's a trade I'd think about entertaining. We get younger, and get a another stretch big to develop. Also doesn't seem to far fetched, so it's one I'd keep an eye on.

Why are you explaining why the Wolves wouldn't do this deal?

Because someone believes it's plausible that they would do this deal.

Any interest in something around THT / Nunn for FVV?

I'm personally not a fan of either THT or Nunn. While i'm not sold on FVV long term, that trade seems like a lateral move at best. I don't think LA and TOR are good trade partners IMO.
