10000000% chance that Shanahan (and likely McDaniel) is in love with this dude. I’ve never seen a more perfect scheme fit.

Video is now private. Too bad I missed it. Remind me who the prospect was?
McDaniel now has three fairly high-priced RBs on the roster, so hard to see him going very aggressively after the RB position in the draft. Really hoping the Niners don't go after the position aggressively, either, but it would be really nice to add another guy who has the flexibility to play some legit WR and RB snaps.

Much as I hated the Jalen Hurd pick at the time and pretty much every moment after it, he would have been a really intriguing piece in our offense. I still think back on if that offseason had panned out. We could have trotted out Samuel, McKinnon, and Hurd and just exploded the minds of defenses league-wide.

Max Borghi

This is so weird. I was able to watch the video last night, but it's showing up as private again this morning. Could be something to do with my work computer. Anyway, Borghi looks like an intriguing player in an outside zone scheme. I'd be interested in taking a look in the later rounds or as a priority UDFA.

If Hurd can regain his explosiveness, I would love to see him back as a camp body to compete.

He would have to come in to compete with someone like Hasty. We can’t afford to keep adding players on the roster that can’t contribute on special teams. I don’t even think he’s good a pass catching back. I’d say he’s above average.
Definitely not as fast, agile, and elusive as McCaffrey. Comparing him to Christian is a slight disrespect to man. People don’t really comprehend how elite of a player we have in the league in McCaffrey.

Yeah, the highlight reel was pretty limited in terms of receiving, but he was mostly used on swing passes out of the backfield. Nothing where he's motioning into the slot or out wide or anything like that. He seems to have some juice in his legs, and could be a good fit in an outside zone, but it's got to be late.

Man. Missing his rookie year for a back injury. That's going to cause a freefall in the draft. Could he go undrafted?

Bingo, I figured I’d come to you as our board Draft/Prospect expert. What do you think of Drake Jackson? He could potentially be there in round 3.
From what I’ve seen, he’s super athletic, but is a bit raw and can use some refinement. I figure Kris Kocurek could work some wonders for him.

No opinion on him as a player, but his measurables are really good. One odd point, though, is that he weighed 20 more pounds at his pro day than at the combine. He hasn't run a 40 yet, but he did the agility drills at his pro day and ran well at the larger weight. But it's pretty odd for a player to see that big a change in a few weeks unless there's an explanation like illness, etc.
He's the type of guy I'd be looking at in the third or fourth if we don't address the position in the second.

Re: 2021-22 CF Season/2022 NFL draft
Saints and Eagles make a trade. Kind of a weird one. Eagles send 16 and 19 to the Saints, who send 18, 101, a 2023 first, and a 2024 second to the Eagles (both teams also send a late-round pick). It probably makes sense for Philly, but pretty dicey to send the Saints 16 for a first next year and a second the following year. The Saints play in a division with two garbage teams, and they have a good D. Solid chance they make the playoffs, and that 2023 pick ends up in the 20s. In the mid-20s, that's almost equal value. Though just about as likely the wheels fall off for the Saints with a new HC, and injured QB, and pretty limited talent at the skill positions.
Maybe the Saints are picking up an additional first rounder to have the ammo to trade for Jimmy.

Hey Dub, sorry for the late response. I’ve been very busy as of late.
I first heard or seen Drake Jackson his true freshman year. There were talks of him becoming a future top 10 picks when he became draft eligible. The assumption was if he is so good as a freshman, can you imagine how great he’ll be in another 2/3 years. However that evolution/big time progression that everyone expected never materialized. He gets neutralize easily by one lineman if they manage to get their hands on him. He’s not good against the run either. With that being said, he’s a great player to target in the 3rd round. If there was such a thing as a #2 DE, he’d be that ideal player to compliment Bosa. Jackson would feast off of Nick and Hassan Ridgeway’s abilities to collapse the pocket. He is quick / he could be the lightning to Bosa’s thunder. He would have so many easy clean up sacks that people would assume he’s a great player in the league. Not sure if this all makes sense.

49ers connected to several IOL's in Day 2. Cole Strange, Ed Ingram, and Jamaree Salyer are among the names. I think they are in the round 3 range, so either 93 or 105 could possibly be used on an IOL.
