Whitehead is such an unfortunate last name. Dude should consider changing it before he goes pro.

In that first game Zizic was a decent NBA backup, too. Pretty impressive for someone so young.

CptCrunch wrote:My early #1 is Kyle Filipowski. This kid can dish, can shoot, can defend and plays with tons of energy, all in a huge 6'10" package. His body looks filled out for his age and has great potential to grow looking at the size/width of his frame.

Filipowski actually got scouted by Scheyer as a 3 star (rank 100+), signed as a mid-4 star (rank 50-ish). Has risen rapidly now to #2 on 247 and Rival, ESPN #5. I am confident he is on a trajectory to #1 in his class in the final ranking.

(Wemby hasn't actually been that good if you look at his play lately)

(Scoot is probably his greatest competition right now)

Just look at the guy's size, handles and mobility in this video. Keep in mind this dude can and might get listed as a 7 footer in the NBA.

Let me stop you right here before this gets started...the level of competition between what Wemby is going against and high school is otherworldly. We saw Wemby vs. the 2022 draft class and he was easily the best player on the court. Not even close. If Kyle Filipowski was in his class he would have been on Team USA with Chet and Ivey.

To add further to this, he plays in France and Euroleague against former NCAA/NBA players. He recently did good vs Lauvergne and Cavanaugh who both at some point played in the NBA. He had 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in 25mn yesterday in the French league.

People would assume European leagues are trash but they host a large amount of decent undrafted NCAA players. He played yesterday against two former NCAA/G-League players whose stats were decent back in college and he just roasted them. So comparing his performance to kids in high school, that's like comparing the MLS vs the Premier League in England.

Such disrespect. Wembanyama is the biggest talent in the world and it's NOT CLOSE.

Porzingis is putting up 20, 7.9, & 1.7. Those are damn good numbers.

You have to draft this kid number 1, no question.

And for all that said he did not play well to start the season need to consider that the competition he is playing against is a MAJOR STEPUP and not comparable to any other 18 year prospect.

Kid's just getting his feet wet like Doncic did in 16/17 before he exploded and is already showing signs of clear improvement against grown men.

The game he had last night was utterly insane and nobody else is simply capable of it. Just flat out dominant.

His last 2 league games
14/8, 5 blocks
25/7, 3 blocks

No defensive player was ever as talented as him.

Porzingis has barely 5% of Victor's talent, barely.

Victor will be the DPOY as a rookie and his offensive skillset although raw is simply ridiculous for an 18 year old.

DPOY as a rookie? No offense man, but he has no chance in hell of that happening.

He has a great chance, he is much more talented than Mobley defensively and he was in the conversation as a 20 year old rookie.

2 years from now Victor will be a 20 year old rookie and he is already giving grown men the absolute business. Nobody in the NBA has the defensive talent Wembanyama has, not even close to it.

We don’t even know if he has the same level of talent as Gobert, let alone have years of experience required to understand complex defensive concepts. I see him more likely to end up on posters his first year.

Good luck with that, he will erase people from day 1.

 you’re too emotionally wrapped up in this take man. Gonna be a lot of tears from you next year. Rookie bigs are the slowest to develop. DPOY? **** outta here.
