Vuc instead of DeMar. They can start Curry at SG. I assume AKME and KD would want Zach/DeMar/KD to be together.

Demar would have no role in that lineup and cant shoot the three so how would he help KD ? If KD comes Demar is now 3rd in the pecking order ?

Demar can play the point forward role like he did in SA.

What do we think about Lavine S&T with Pwill, Ayo + Picks?

I don't care how likely this is. Both Chicago baseball teams are under .500, the Bears are tanking and the Blackhawks are just starting a long rebuild. I need rumors like these to sustain me lol

So realistically, the Bulls can't come close to that offer. KD would have to explicitly state he is either playing in Chicago or isn't playing at all.

I can't imagine they'd offer Bam. I think they'd definitely offer Herro, but Bam is so integral to their success. Is Riley really going to mortgage the future for a 34-year-old Duran and a shot a ring? I lean no, but he did do it for Shaq.

You're right though, if Bam is on the table then no one's beating that offer.

That’s basically what the Bulls would be doing. Durant might have two good years left but if he can stay healthy which is serious question mark at this point.

It wouldn’t be comparable at all. Pat is a young guy with potential. Bam is a young All-Star who recently helped get them to the finals.

The fans aren’t the GMs. Why do people insist this?

If the offers of others teams fans upset you, best to look away. No need to be so sensitive. We are all talking in hypotheticals about this, let's not pretend we aren't.

I even explicitly stated it was fans. Not the GM.

It’s still a gutting of the team and few assets we have left. I see people talk about DeRozan doesn’t have much time. Durant is even further down that path. Can’t we get someone under 30?!

I’m not sensitive but there’s no correlation between Fans offers vs GMs offers. Also, fans are known to overvalue players so it’s really pointless to bring up what a fans thinks a player value actually is. Best that you stop assuming.
You also talk about fans like they hold some credence when in actuality they don’t.

Short of Durant outright telling Brooklyn he'd only play for the Bulls, I find it very hard to believe he ends up in Chicago.

This team doesn't have that young star-quality player who could be the centerpiece of any deal, nor do they have the draft capital, like an OKC, to sweeten the pot.

If Patrick Williams looked like Scottie Barnes this season, perhaps we'd be having a different conversation, but that just isn't the case.

I don't see how Durant and DDR co-exist on the same team. And, as much as I love DDR, I would give him up in a second for Durant. So, your team becomes Lonzo, LeVine, Durant and Vuc and whatever else is left. I don't love it, but if Lonzo and LeVine are healthy, perhaps they make it interesting in the East. The interesting question the other way, is if LeVine says is he leaving to join Durant in Brooklyn, do we entertain a double sign and trade for Kyrie?

Durant has been consistently positive about Chicago and Lavine. I doubt the Bulls get him but Chicago is going to be on the radar if Durant has control.

Not sure they can do anything to get him though. Chicago is going to get outbid. His age is a concern too.

I will give this a considerable amount of thought if he ever actually demands a trade to Chicago.

I'm definitely a KD fan so I could only hope he would want come here but hypothetically speaking if he did come.

I know we have the 10mil MLE but if we were to trade Vuc or Dmar we would still go after center like M.Robinson. Say if we were to use the 10mil on center could we still use the 6mil Tax MLE to sign someone else like a Batuum?

If the Nets decide to blow it up, that would send some shockwaves through the NBA. With KD and Kyrie both on the market, teams would have the chance to turns themselves from treadmill level to contender level with basically a stroke.

Does Lillard want to contend? Send Simons, maybe Nassir Little, and future swaps and picks for Durant...

What about the Jazz... not much in the way of young talent but maybe a 3 way trade where Gobert goes for something, that gets sent to the Nets, while the Jazz supplement that with a bunch of picks.

The Pelicans - do they swap Zion for KD? Do the Nuggets try to swap Michael Porter (and picks) for KD... or just Porter for Kyrie to pair him with Jokic and Murray...

Or for lesser options, do the Wiz want to keep Beal and become relevant? Durant is from the DC area, right? A bunch of unprotected firsts and Rui and Gafford (for salary purposes), etc. for him.

The odds increase if you can add a 3rd team to the mix. A team that is being gutted might not have any use for DeRozan or Vuc, but another team with a more desirable young asset might decide they need one or both of them to be that final piece for championship contention.

Still going to be very difficult but if Durant has us on a 3-4 team list of places he would go and we decided that we have to have him, we could probably make it work

I think they are probably one of the most realistic destinations.

The Bulls have nothing to offer.

This is the first realistic scenario. Not saying it is a good scenario but Lavine is the only way.

FYI star players aren't traded to mid market teams or rebuilding teams.

Yeah because KD wants to come to a Bulls team without LaVine.

Unfortunately we have the one coach in the league that will turn KD off.
