Such a colossal narcissist.

If something is true for him, then it must be true for everyone else.

And then the self-righteous victim complex. Completely ignoring the severity and dangers of this global pandemic, thinking that all the medical and policy countermeasures were abusive, like human rights violations.

Violations against being a complete asshat, that is.

Speaking as a Nets fan, I'll be thrilled when we finally trade these drama queens for anything reasonable.

They were abusive, children lost out cognitively from all the masked cowards and loss of schooling, the lockdowns destroyed our epic economy and it may have brought forth a new normal with the crime spikes. It was a giant overreaction that we will be paying for a long time, most of the us public hasn't realized they were lied to.

In Kyrie’s career, he has played in 68% of the games he was under contract for in the NBA (611/892).

Out of that 68% (611 total), he’s actually given full effort in…I don’t know, but it definitely isn’t 100%, and I think few would argue that.

I think it’s going to be sad/scary to see what happens to him once he isn’t good enough to play NBA basketball at an All Star caliber level for just over half the games he’s paid for.

I think he’s going to be shocked by the fact that his platform vanishes once he can’t dribble like Uncle Drew, and that the merits of his superior intellect/perception (above most “pawns”) isn’t enough on its own to keep him in the limelight.

Imagine you have family member that dies of cancer and then you see someone calling cancer fake and spreading a bunch of lies and misinformation. Now imagine that cancer can be spread to others. You still a fan? Nothing about this is harmless and I'll never understand anyone defending people like him.

You mean like... the flu? We don't have to imagine people dying of the flu, it happens every day... guess what, it's still a pathetic microbe that won't deter me, shouldn't deter anyone but in this soft era...

Stay on topic, thanks.

i've said this time and time again

kyrie is a child who wants to impress adults by trying to be adultish. so he says the right things. i think he's well loved by players because he tends to say adultish things that players are too dumb to think of.

personalities NEVER change and if anyone thinks kyrie is the exception. remember what einstein said about "insanity" - that's people thinking this is a new kyrie.

Meh, this one’s only about a 3/10 on the Kyrie annoyance scale

Would be awesome if we didn’t make a Kyrie thread every week about how crazy you guys think he is. I feel like every one of these threads turns hostile, and derails rapidly. It’s almost training camp, we have more interesting things going on than Kyrie conspiracy theories etc.

I like Kyrie.

He stood for what he believed in. You all can hate on him and do have a right for your feelings, but cannot critique him on being wishy washy. He hasn't been vaccinated and doesn't intend to.

I believe that getting an emergency authorized injective medication, without years of clinical research and lab results, coerced upon the employee, is completely wrong.

The vaccine has documented side effects and has effected people. He has every right not to get it.

As for on court performance and missing games not based upon last years vaccine stuff?

Yeah I can see why people are upset because he's been so inconsistent. I get that completely.

Kyrie has had, what, two good years in his career (16 and 17)? He’s been coasting on his reputation for years now and hasn’t been that impactful of a player since he left Lebron and Cleveland.

He’ll have the odd really amazing regular season game but come playoffs (if he even healthy) I’d wager on him doing his usual no show.

Kyrie is free to have his own opinion about vaccines
But the fact that he is a Alex Jones supporter, who claimed no one died during the sandy hook mass school shooting, is sickening

During his medical training, did your doctor skip everything related to antigens, immunology, viruses, vaccines, pandemics, how micro-droplet diseases are spread, and so forth...?

Sounds like a complete quack drooling idiot to me. One that should have their medical license revoked for violating the The Hippocratic Oath.

That's like the authorities ordering a region vacated because a tsunami is coming, then when the tsunami destroys a bunch of their homes and impacts everyones' lives for the worst, turning around and blaming the authorities for the whole thing.

How so. The science backed him then and it's really backing him now

The science didn’t back him. Not at all. I’m not interested in wasting my time explaining or entering into this mind numbingly stupid “debate” again either.

My observation on Kyrie stands… he’s a moron.

There isn't anything remotely scientific supporting mandates in young people, and especially children. So while I wouldn't say the science entirely backs Kyrie, it also isn't particularly convincing. Unless you consider something as a vaccine that wanes in 3 to 5 months as about 87 studies have shown now.

Like everything in life, this is a very nuanced thing, and to suggest it's settled science without context doesn't seem wise. The bigger issue for me is we get these Kyrie threads every week, and it's nothing more than a pissing contest, and personal attacks. Yet mods continue to leave them up until it explodes in the thread into full blown name calling.

There also is plenty of studies coming out regarding the damage done by them, as well as the lockdowns, covered by multiple publications including NYT and CNN. This isn’t some conspiracy. This isn’t something you can slip under the rug. Examples:

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/01/us/national-test-scores-math-reading-pandemic.html

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-02823-4

There are grave consequences to the decisions, and while they may have been necessary at times, in certain areas, I feel like people skim over the very real trade offs.

There was plenty of data supporting mandates in people of all ages. The entire growth curves, R0 and death rate figures of the early variants were the data to support the mandates.

In terms of supporting mandates right now, the need is waning and eventually it will be dropped. Understand that vaccines are protected proactively and not retroactively.
