His efforts are commendable.
Yeah, but he's the only one..... Everyone else is playing like they've got huge win bonuses in their contracts......
He is the last and most dedicated pupil of coach Quin. He is taught to follow the Plan never matter what and isn't going to throw of that Teaching for a couple of measly wins.

The thing is we shoot fairly well, but we did not play really well.
We made too many turn overs turning in fast breaks and easy 2 for nuggets.
Without Gobert, they watched is was fairly easy to score inside and they scored a lot... but 2 is less than 3... and we were sinking 3s and were defending better the perimeter so we get some stops before they were inside.
We don't have a star to go, so they shared the ball and played like a team.
Conley had 8 assists... this was almost impossible with Quinn and Mitchell. The ball was not too often in his hands.
Vanderbilt was wild. Maybe too many out of control, but as I said without stars, most of those players can be changed and the team is not suffering. Kessler, Olynik, Markkanen, Sexton, Gay, Conley, JV, Beasley... all had their moments.
Probably is a fluke, but it was nice to see effort. This team is by far less talented than last year, but probably is more balanced.
I think Fontecchio, Bolmaro or the rookie can play too, so it's nice to have players trying to do his best.

I can get my LP per 50€ (special offer from Spanish operator) and I can watch every single game, but last year was watching only jazz games and some random game outside.
I am not decided If I want to renew it, being cheap... but man, the league is watered and my Jazz can give me only stomachaches.
Suggestion from a Cavs fan perusing the thread to see how our former guys did about surviving a rebuild: just continue to root for your team to win and if they don't think of that as a win too. Don't sweat the ping pong balls, even the worst team in the league has only a 14% shot at winning the lottery.

Yeah, but there are still about 5 guys in this draft that make tanking worthwhile. Jazz need a top-5 pick. Cavs are on the upswing because they drafted Garland and Mobley in back-to-back years.

Cavs did draft one bust between Garland and Mobley and that was Okoro with the 5th pick in 2020.
Agreed it's really important for these smaller markets to land a stud in the draft.
Good game by the Jazz last night. It was fun to watch all their energy.

lol, Utah is one of the team's I point to when Cavs fans say stuff like that, because you guys didn't need a top-5 pick to draft Mitchell, Gobert or Hayward and it's way too early to be calling this a 2-man or even a 5-man draft.
The way I'd look at it is while your vets helped, you beat the Nuggets because Markkanen, Sexton, Kessler, and Vanderbilt stepped up. If they keep stepping up and you keep winning, then you're either well ahead of the game in terms of developing talent for your rebuild or you should be able to easily go trade them for more picks or perhaps better fitting players.
Ainge acquired enough assets to fuel a quick rebuild regardless of whether the ping pong balls fall your way.

Regardless of how the rest of the season goes, no one will ever be able to take away Hardy's first win as a head coach, the classy act of Conley making sure to secure the game ball for him to mark that occasion (and what that means to a team when the leader steps up like that), Sexton wearing his shorts backwards and then leading the team in scoring while taking over the game in the closing minutes (Superstitious new dress code?
), Kessler being the first rookie in team history to score a double double in his debut, nor the jubilation of watching a seemingly horrible team take a potential finals team to the woodshed. The only team in the league I enjoy watching the Jazz beat more than the Nuggets is the Lakers, so this was a night to remember. Really fun!
