But what is surprising is that although Herro is averaging 24 PPG on 50/43/86 splits, Heat are -16.1 ORTG (per 200 poss) with Herro on court. Herro should still be coming off the bench IMO.

Well he already signed so….lol
But really, Caleb should not be playing the 4 vs top big men.

True, but 2 things:

(1) Herro will be targeted way more by opposing starting offensses. Bulls shot 14-16 FG against Herro as DeRozan was licking his chops anytime Herro got switched onto him. Caleb is undersized at the 4, but is still a better defender and won't get picked on nearly as much
(2) The bench lacks a shot creator which Herro would solve instantly. Herro did well in that role last season as his on/off numbers weren't as bad when he faced opposing benches.

The problem is we would be paying 30 million for a bench player. This would be a continuation of comically overpaying Duncan and signing basically a short fat geriatric pg for 30 million a year. One would get fired for just the Duncan signing alone, then add the Lowry signing and they would get thrown out of the building by security. Now spending 30 million for a player to come off the bench is either gross incompetence or someone trying to get fired.

It's not that big of a deal. Duncan should have been moved already. He lost to Strus. We haven't moved him so Duncan should emerge as a sixth man like Herro did. He just hasn't had the chance yet and he knows he's likely on the move.

The Celtics have always dusted us early on in the season for the past 4 years. Not too worried.

The Bulls squeaked by us in a game where Demar Derozan's performance was reminiscent of 06' finals Dwyane Wade. Let me tell ya'll something - if Derozan played like that every night he'd be an NBA championship by now.

Can ya'll take a chill pill? lol

Tell me, do you truly believe we have a championship core in place right now? We’re done actually competing because we sat on our hands for far too long

I do.

I'd put 2 teams ahead of us right now, and that's Milwaukee and Boston. The rest doesn't scare me.

I mean it’s good to be a optimist, but sorry there’s no way we’re going to compete this year. How do you expect our defense to turn a corner come playoff time when there’s an abundance of defensive liabilities on the roster, in the main rotation. With a lack of a clear robin who can contribute come playoff time

Well it's easy to be the doomsayer but we're still the same team that was one shot from the finals. Tucker was important but he will be replaced soon somehow, either by personnel or strategic tinkering.

It's not like we lost LeBron again.

Closed minded, uninspired, uncreative.

Could he be protecting Jovic too much? Handling him like a little kid?

Once Jovic messes up he will be crucified by our base. Will it emotionally destroy the kid?

But he was a pro in Serbia!?! That's the shpeel.

I wouldn’t personally.
I understand he is a 19 year old teen, and obviously will go though growing steps. I’m willing to accept it just like we accepted Bam’s growth.

I think a big woman like this ^ traumatized Spo during his college days. Explains his issue with anything big, such as tall big players.

If you can’t see that we’re a worse team from last year than there’s no helping you. The rest of the nba in getting better meanwhile we’ve gone backwards. Banking heavily on the development of Bam and Herro yet they still are years away from peaking if they haven’t peaked already

So we really went from 1 shot away from finals, to 1 trade away from being a contender to now rock bottom…

I agree, but what I meant by him signing was that the Heat can now have him come off the bench and have all the leverage.

We're 2 games in. Basically the same team minus the greatest player of all time in Tucker.

Yeah hopefully we magically come up with a Tucker replacement with one of these scrap heap guys and reverse the aging of Lowry and Butler

I have high hopes for jovic but we’re not a contender if we have to depend on a 19 year old rookie to replace tucker’s production

That Lowry miss… feels like such a cursed season so far. We’re playing with zero momentum or confidence.

You're mentality is all wrong on Jovic. Imagine saying what you just said about Doncic. The league is getting younger, faster, longer.
