Up to what are we matching for Grant? I want to keep him.

By the time they would have to match or not match, the Dame, Brodgon and other situations will have been settled and it will be a lot more clear re: Grant.

I think there's about 48 hours until you can officially make such an offer, but your question should be whether another team the C's would do a S&T with would outbid you. My guess is yes. And yeah, you wouldn't be on the hook in limbo for long anyway.

I'm guessing the Cs have put out the word that they will match full-MLE offers, but trade for a pick if Grant can get substantially more than that.

I can't guess how firmly they've committed to this plan, but that would seem to be the impression they're trying to create.

If so, Grant may need to get such a deal, structure it as advantageously as possible (player option, trade kicker, whatever), and call the Cs' bluff.
