I mean, "probably" doesn't exactly sound like a sure thing, also, for how many years are we talking about? You think is talking about the rest of his career here? I don't even think most Bucks fans think he will play out his career there if they suck. Nor do they even want him to do that, maybe.

The Bucks have 1.5 years (2027 trade deadline) to figure 2 things out:

1) get Giannis to sign an extension

2) if no extension, trade Giannis and Turner

If Giannis won’t sign an extension they have to be willing to do the difficult thing and trade Giannis. They cannot afford to lose him for nothing. If they can extend him for 2 years then they can chase the 4th seed then that’s perfectly fine.

I know people hated the Dame stretch but I don’t think it’s that bad given the circumstances. If Giannis wants to stay knowing they’re hampered by the dead salary and lack of draft assets, that’s his prerogative. If the Bucks need to trade Giannis they will get a haul (I also believe Turner will have positive trade value) and it won’t matter if Dame’s money is on the books for 3 years because they’ll be rebuilding anyways.

As long as the Bucks don’t let Giannis get to free agency they should be fine (even if their title equity is close to zero). Giannis and Turner should provide enough of an asset base in trades to re-fill the coffers.

Towns is a fine base for a trade discussion actually, trouble is a guy like Towns is unlikely to resign in Milwauke, which makes such a trade a no-go

It's why small market teams always prefer multiple high draft picks, in a trade for a superatar

Ya. Im not sure i can be convinced that Towns somehow increased his value from being dumped for Randle and a 1st to being the base for Towns, but even if he was, Knicks have no picks and no young talent. What are they adding?

Brunson is an awesome young asset, it's not just Towns they have.

I hope you're not insinuating that Brunson and Towns would be the package to get Giannis. Why would NYK do that?

Because his team is not going to be good enough to get to the Finals again.. the only reason why he will probably ask out in the next 12 months.

I feel like back in the day more players were ride or die for their team. Give it their all and no matter how **** their team was. Milwaukee has destroyed their future to try and get Giannis help no matter what.

Giannis seems like a guy who would respect that and go out and give it his all to bring a another chip. I feel like he could pull his team together to get it done. Will it be hard or close to impossible? Yes, but Giannis seems like one of the few players who would be up for the challenge and be able to pull it off.

Now that Masai is gone from the Raptors. I'm hoping Giannis stays with the Bucks for the rest of his career and brings them another ring. Would be a legend in that city that's loved by all.

Not too convincing.

It also means that the offers Milwaukee is getting do not reflect what they'd need in order to trade him away. We'll see how this season shapes up, especially with a new Center in Myles Turner and returning a few players who showed what a 5-out lineup looks like when Giannis can go one-one-one, like they had in Game 3 of the playoffs against Indiana. Might not be sustainable deep in the playoffs, but it should be good enough to keep them in the Top 6 of the East.

They clearly aren't even thinking about trading him.

To normal people yes. These people posting aren't that

This type of quote hes given since his career took off.

And this thread is the same type of thread that has popped up every time hes given a quote since his career took off.

The truly funny part is "if" he ever leaves you'll still get people saying "see i told you he'd leave" as if they haven't been saying it for a decade plus

(fyi for the fans of teams keeping their powder dry enjoy keeping it dry for 2 years cause ain't no way he isnt signing a supermax extension next season of he isn't requesting out now)

Not too convincing.

After the Luka trade, what do you expect him to say?

Sounded to my like he would stay if it were entirely up to him but given the Luka trade, no one is safe anymore

Just my interpretation of it anyway

If Anteto stays is because of loyalty or, you know, family/friends/personal life as a whole.

When, years from now, some kid knows abut him on the internet -or whatever we have by then- he could think "Uhm, 2 MVPs, a FMVP, a DPOY but only a ring... and never made it even to the conference finals again? Dude should not have been very good".

It's a shame. Same as Jokic. But I respect his decision a lot.

Yeah, okay dude.

During this episode, it must be noted that Giannis did a "be like Mike" reference wrt the Jordan brand revenue. Mike never left Chicago, though he may have flirted with it.

Kobe, Dirk & Tim had the same path. Giannis has also said that he wants to be like those players.

If Giannis takes that path, I envision him still winning more championships in the vein of Kobe, Tim & MJ. His will & impact on teammates work ethic is too strong.

Apparently he doesn't like the high tax slug of New York (or Los Angeles)

https://hoopshype.com/2025/07/10/giannis-antetokounmpo-tax-is-bad-in-los-angeles-and-new-york/

Still reckon if he does leave, he ends up at The Spurs, who have the assets and young players required to satisfy Milwaukee.

Giannis one ring (so far) will forever be much highly rated than the 2 cheap rings LeBron won at Miami or KD at Golden State.

Giannis is not getting traded nor is he the type to demand a trade. He isn’t going to ask out to go to the highest bid nor is he going to be the first person in history to demand a trade and move his family to San Antonio to play second fiddle on someone else’s team for a few years. If Giannis were to have to choose a new home, the cities would be the usual suspects that literally every person with money on earth want to live in. Bucks will compete in the east this year
