Really nothing to complain about. We back!!!

HAL go to 3:07 and you can see Niang vs Boucher. Epic battle -- U WILL LIKE how it ends!
Also, after watching this highlight reel, some observations:
1. Boucher must lead the league in low-energy celebrations (shrugs and eye rolls)
2. At least in his highlights, Boucher puts the ball on the floor pretty well
3. Even in his highlights, Boucher ends up on the ground a lot
4. Boucher is the true heir of Amir Johnson in that he lines up his 3pt shot and shoots it without leaving the ground
5. Boucher is one of those guys where every time he scores against your favorite team, you feel like he was lucky and your team is unlucky
6. He is NOT a 5. He is a poor man's Siakam.
7. I remain optimistic about this signing -- guy has played a long time for this opportunity. That is: over 8 years in the league, Boucher has 407 career games played, and he's started 23 of them. Let's let it rip a bit and see how it goes!

there are so many teams clamoring to get Bassey.31to6 wrote:I was a big Bassey fan. Comparing the two, Bassey is 8 years younger, 1000% more likely to be injured, more likely to block shots, more likely to pass, more likely to turn the ball over, and more likely to foul. Obviously Boucher shoots from the perimeter and Charles doesn't -- yet.
Boucher might be primed to start this season and spread his wings a bit -- and possibly accept a backup role to JT next year, which could be helpful. Bassey is more of a classic 5.
Career ORtg Bassey 121 Boucher 124
Career DRtg Bassey 111 Boucher 110
If it was close to a coin flip, I'm guessing they made the right call -- and again, saying this as someone who liked Bassey in his draft and in Vegas last month.

My first thought was at least this means no Ben Simmons to us
This is a low key good value signing though. Pretty happy about it

I remember every time we played the Raptors, soon as Boucher would come in the game, I would say don't let this guy get hot. He is a factor. Simon and Boucher off the bench gives Boston some firepower off the bench. Especially if they are going to start Pritchard.

I've seen Boucher play well against the Celtics for the Dinos in the past and I liked what I saw, so this signing has me a bit more jazzed than Garza to be honest. But only $3 million dollars this late into the offseason is a pretty good indication that expectations probably need to be tempered.

Things always seem to sound more impressive when coming from Idris Elba!
And now that Boucher is signed and Niang is gone, is there enough cap room to squeeze Big Al back in the picture?
Horford
Boucher
Brown
White
Pritchard
w/Simons, Queta, Hauser, Scheierman
and Garza, Walsh, Minott, Hugo, Tillman, Luis and the rest as the rag-tag team of castaways
If you squint it starts to look like a team.

I asked for Jokic and Brad gives us Boucher. He must be trippin.

I can say after years of watching him in Toronto I never understood why he didn't get more burn. He seems like a high impact player when he's on the court and has a nose for making plays out of nowhere.
He'll never pass, ever, that's a guarantee, but at 3.3? No brainer.

No..we're still looking to trim salary - not add salary.
We're only like $1.7 mil above the 1st apron..reports are saying we will try and get under it.
Plus, Al is considering retirement. If he plays, it might be his last season. All signs point to Al (if he does play this season) looking to sign with a contender to try and win 1 more ring..that ain't happening this season for Boston. He knows that..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Agree we're cutting overall, but the $1.7M was for the 1st apron not the tax - and before Boucher.
We're $12M over the tax, $4M over the 1st apron now.
Al is most likely signing with GSW after Kuminga is resolved.

morning optimism: they are different types of players and play different roles, but could Boucher perhaps approximate Kornet's impact -- not only this season, but also beyond if they were able to keep him?

It looks to me that he can for sure.
He is a bit more versatile than Kornet.
He is 32 yo, so not sure how long. But one would think at least a couple years of good ball left in him.
