That's still going to be very difficult in the West

He might be an All Star if he gets very hot from three, and the Nuggets roll to the 1st or 2nd best record in the league by the break. I don't see him being a strong All Star, and there are still injury concerns.

If anything, I am higher on Christian Braun taking further steps this season. He got a lot of great experience in the postseason as well.

Christian Braun excites me. Like you, I look forward to the leaps he makes in the upcoming season, and I expect him to be the teams third option.

Yeah, he just.. performs. Plays efficiently, hits threes, dunks the **** out of stuff, takes smart shots at the basket.. he has improved every stat since his rookie season - pts, reb, ast, stl, blk, fg %, 3p%, 3pm, ftm, fta, ft %, ts %! That's just so impressive.

He had 37.5 mins, 18.3 pts on a 70 ts % with 1.6 threes, 6.6 rebs, 4 ast/1.1 to and a +/- of +177 total in Denvers last 9 games of the regular season.

Then he had to go through two seven game series against a tough Clippers team, and the reigning champs and their suffocating defense and he still held his ground with 12.6 pts on a 54.8 ts %, 6.4 reb, 2.4 ast, 1.2 stl, 0.7 blk, 1 to and +/- -13. That's the best way to improve, to play long, tough series in the playoffs against the best team and defense last year.

So it didn't surprise me that he has looked great in the preseason, it must be like easy mode compared to how hard the games were when the season ended.

Between him and Cameron Johnson averaging 22 pts on 66.9 ts %, 3.3 3pm, 5.1 ftm in december last season as the 1st option, the Nuggets all of a sudden has two great third options this season..

I think it's pretty much a consensus the Nuggets can win it this year

they fired their coach a few days before the playoffs, MPJ had only one working shoulder, Murray wasn't right physically or mentally all of last season and even AG was injured in that OKC series and wasn't fit to play in the latter half of that OKC series and they still took the Thunder to 7 games

They have upgraded their starting 5 and dramatically upgraded their bench

They are obviously contenders and they will have a shot to win it all if they click at the right time and can stay healthy

i was trying to find a way to say I believe he is the most important nugget in regards to their success. Jokic is the best and will always provide, but a good Murray makes a huge difference

This is always my biggest concern with the team. Jokic is Jokic. Beyond him Gordon is their second most valuable/impactful player. The problem is while he had wonderful synergy with Jokic, and is really important defensively. He doesn't get tasked with nearly enough offensive sets or actions. Those go to Murray and as long as Murray is giving that HUGE secondary....heck sometimes he shoots more and dribbles more than Jokic. He has to be preform as a true number 2 in the system they have for him. Otherwise, the Nuggets just can't get over that hump. He did in their title. So short of Braun not just passing him as a player, but also taking his role in the offense...the Nuggets aren't going further than Murray's offense takes them.

So about that... no.
He is not an All-Star and probably will never be.
An All-Star would have more than 6 points in 29% (FG) with his national non-US team in the Olympics.
He was never even close to be selected to an All-Star.
He is just one of these lucky players to be drafted to a team that maximizes their potential.

I hope one day someone can bump this and laugh at my post, but I just don't see that happening. He seems like a nice guy and I do want him to succeed.
If you have more "Posts" than "And1", don't feel bad if I didn't reply to you - I just don't like to speak with people who argue a lot

I think AG was clearly the 2nd best Nugget last season and he wasn't healthy enough during the rs or the playoffs to be his usual self on defense

he deserves to be an all-star more than Murray tbh. with his revamped 3 pt shot (and FT), his defense, his playmaking, rebounding etc - I think he's the their 2nd best and def their 2nd most important player, they need him to be a 100% this season to achieve their goals but it's true that they have alot more depth at PF this seaosn than they do at PG

If he puts up good enough numbers the first half of the season, nobody's going to GAF that he played badly for Canada 2 years ago.

Under the old format I could see it happening, although he'd be among the last to get in.

We have to see what the new selection process looks like though. Things could be weird. Is he one of the 4-6 best international guards in the league? Pretty easily. But we don't know how the teams will shake out.

Anyway, I hope he gets in just because it'll mean that he's playing really well and by extension the Nuggets are playing really well.

Definitely the best he's ever looked at the start of a season. That said, I still doubt he makes it unless hes averaging like 25/5/5 and the Nuggets are the 1 seed when the selections are made.

Let us hope so, then maybe he will have some trade value.

What a difference coming into the season healthy makes. I hope he or Gordon makes an All Star team, but even if they don't, they look rejuvenated this year. I feel better about this team more now than I did at any point last season. Gonna be a fun year.
