Chandler and Dalembert have some low post moves, Wallace and Diop are AWFUL offensively and Sean Williams is a completely different player. Do not get me wrong, Thabeet will play in the league because of his ability to block shots, but I do not believe he is a 16-12 guy, more likely a 8-7 guy off the bench.
He's got the potential to be a 15/17-11/12-4 player. He needs what Bynum received.
A. A specialized skill teacher
B. A very good personal trainer
C While he can *help* now--his timeline has to be two years of skill and strength training--as if you were drafting him to be a 4 year college player while he gets his nose wet with 10-15 minutes[maybe more in the right situation who knows??]
He needs to continue working on core+ hand strength[he's catching much better this year but still has a way to go] and will also need a personalized skill man on to one. I DO NOT think he needs any more weight and he is much stronger than people realize right now. With a good 1-1 trainer he will be able to improve his footwork and work on a set of post moves. He's got good tough out to 12 feet. He has VERY good stamina for a person his size and he's got the best GPA on the team. He also has some Shaq to him a bit--he's going to be a powerful load to contend with because he is a legit 7-3 with a very solid frame. If he gets into a system with a really good PG I think that would be best.
He's getting better at a startling pace. After Rose and Beasley[beasley is the only special player in the draft who will come in and star right away anyway] I think Thabeet might have the next best physical potential. Im sure the Lakers are happy they waited on Bynum.
