I think Wade should shut down. He cannot expect to make a full recovery while playing hurt.

Suns told Amare to skip the season after playing a couple of games going back from surgery and it did him well. I think Riley made a bad move bringing him back in to "save" the season. Now what the Heat is doing is bruising an already injured player.

^^^^

Also it bodes well if he polishes his game so that he won't rely on athleticism. I always imagined him to be a taller AI in his prime where you expect him to develop that mid range jumper and make a pull up jumper flawlessly.

Wade has mentioned in interviews last year (pre injury) he wants to perfect the game. He likened that To Kobe and how he "prefected" the game. He also said he wants to have the best pull up J in the game.

But you can't perfect and fine tune your game when you are hurt. Plus usually fine tuning some aspect of your game takes a whole off season. Fact is yes, Lebron and Melo have taken steps to polish their games, but Wade's injury made this difficult. How can you perfect your jumper when your rehabbing your shoulder?

Wade had to put all his energy into rehabbing and not improving his game That's why I don't get some complaints I've read like,"He hasn't improved" Well of course not. Let Wade get healthy and give him a summer to fine tune his game and things will be different.

He said his goal before the season was to get back into that elite group of players, so we know the desire is there.
" What I do is attack your ability. I don't have to stand over you and taunt you. You'll know when it's done that I'm better."

GREAT read on yahoo. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/nba_experts/post/Dwyane-Wade-The-Ball-Don-t-Lie-interview;_ylt=Amx_9AcWDHhdHKu83edSSfm8vLYF?urn=nba%2C66266

BDL: Well, speaking of getting in shape, you had a pretty rough collison with Kobe on Sunday. How is the knee and shoulder holding up?

Wade: Ah, just as it has been all season. It's been touch-and-go. My shoulder's been fine, but my knee is ... instead of 100% it's been about 70% all year. But I knew coming into this season that it was going to be a year before my knee feels the way I want it to feel. Some days it feels good, some days it doesn't. You have to play these games through the pain for your teammates and for your organization and do what you love to do. Next year I'll be healthy. But this year is a different year. I'm not playing with that explosiveness that I'm used to having. It's been a little different. But I'm not complaining, I'm on the court.

BDL: Sticking with your health, a signature of your game has been that relentless attacking of the basket. It's something Kobe Bryant has always done. It's something LeBron James started to do last year. But on the flip side, you've got guys like Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter; guys that have been criticized for not crashing the net and taking on more of a jump shooter mentality. Given your recent injury history, is it easier to understand why guys maybe ease up?

Wade: Yeah. I think as you get older you get smarter about the game. When Kobe first came into the league, Kobe was attack, attack, attack. And now Kobe has mastered the game to the point of, you know, he might shoot 13 jump shots a game, but he's very efficient with his shot. But he also attacks at the right time. I think it's whether it's the right time to do it. As I get older, and as I get healthier, I'll be able to work on my game and make it easier on myself to not go in there and get messed up all the time.

....There's more and definitely worth reading.

Riley is a jerk. Just sit out Wade for awhile. No playoffs for you guys this year. Perhaps sit out J-Will. Invest on your future by giving the young guns mins. Daequan Cook & Dorell Wright. Next year probably everyone will be ranting of the D3 factor 8)

Has anyone seen Kobe's highlights of late? Seems a lot faster and agile than last year. He put a crossover on someone last night that would really make your jaw drop. Now think of what he was like last year? I remember in one of the Heat Laker games Wade stealing the ball from him and Kobe in a flat out sprint could not catch Wade who was dribbling the ball. Wade simply needs time to recover fully from surgery. This time next year he'll be back to 100% Flash! :)

To be fair, nobody's going to catch 100% (last year) Wade in the open court.

Kobe also committed himself to conditioning during the offseason. Something Wade really needs to consider again.

As an athlete, you can't properly condition yourself after a surgery..Hell you have to go by the proper recovery time just to start your rehab...

True, then I'd like to hear him admit that, instead of firing back at Skip Bayless saying he's bigger because he's lifting more weights.

I also heard Wade likes to eat about anything. The thing with this, your metabolism as you get older slows down. So maybe Wade should look into what he is eating, it could probably help his overall health. He is still young though, but it could help his overall health.

Oh yeah, Kobe did lose alot weight, that is why he looks quicker, I remember watching a special when he was playing in team USA about this.

Interesting that Olympic boss Jerry Colangelo told ESPN's Chris Sheridan that Dwyane Wade is "more injured than he leads people to believe." You know what? Enough already. How about the Heat coming clean? If the kid should sit, then he should sit. If he's so banged up that he should skip the Olympics, then someone in the organization had better develop the courage to advise as much.
I'm like Global Warming, you can't ignore me.
