Why is a guy like Charles Jenkins ranked in late 1st round? He sounds good.

A combination of playing for a small school, being a senior, and admitting that he's somewhat "forced" to play PG because he's too short to be an NBA SG.

All that said though, he appears to be a pretty damn smart player.

Except Vucevic is 260 pounds and the enthusiasm about him is partially based on the fact that web sites such as Draft Express have been reporting that teams are impressed with him. It's not some BS trolling pulled out of our asses.

Do you guys have any idea how ridiculously good Klay would be as our starting SG next to Amare and Melo? Klay moves so well without the ball and has very good footwork. He can also shoot on the move and off the dribble. When Donnie compared him to Reggie he is spot on. Biyombo is still a question mark. I would love him yes, but does he acually know how to play basketball or does he just get by on being physical? Jimmer i would like but if we are to go after Chris Paul it is pointless to go after him IMO.

Klay has good size for the 2guard at 6'7 and isnt a bad defender either. Very high IQ as well.

Klay makes too much sense, he isnt somone who needs to be ball dominant and would fit the team of Paul/Melo/Amare perfectly.

I agree big time. You do not trade up to get Jimmer. And while Biyombo is second on my draft board, Klay is first.

It's also ridiculous that people would consider packaging Fields or Douglas and our pick to move up a few spots. Landry looked atrocious in the last few months of the season but he's still got 2 rookie of the month awards and was a stud for over half a season. We are also starving for depth so two for one trades don't make sense.

The only Fields trade I would do is straight up for Golden State's pick. That way there is a chance we could grab Klay Thompson and Bismack Biyombo.

Minnesota continues to explore trade opportunities for the #20 pick. They won't outright sell it. Still looking for a "veteran big man."

Bottom line. He's got a promise. It's not Celtics, Nets or Blazers. It's Heat at 31. But it doesn't stop a team from drafting him higher

Hmmm...Ronny + Cash for 20?

Not sure if I believe the Reggie Jackson promise, why would he shut it down for a second round guarantee? Well, I guess he would be getting playing time on a goood team..

Turiaf is a Vet and he gets hurt enough that he won't stop the growth of whoever is playing behind him. :)

Turiaf is greater than anyone we'll get at the 20th pick. However he is sooooo goddamn fragile that I would approve of making that trade.

Go to the Blazers site and look at the workout highlights between Vucevic and J. Tyler.

I started looking at the clips because my interest is peaked in Tyler but in looking at both clips Tyler looked overmatched. He was almost falling down trying to guard Vucevic.

Clips may be misleading -- I don't know.

Regarding Vucevic and some of the comments about him being a stiff.

Isn't this the same guy who's dad was a legend in his country - the oldest player to ever play professionally? I also believe the kids body fat % was sub 5% but not certain at this point.

Just saying = the kid does come from a hoops family and at 5% body fat he's doing something right -- just not buying those saying he plays with no passion. Certain cultures don't show their emotions as much - maybe that's the deal with Vucevic.

Vucevic vs. Tyler you say? Must see TV

Both of your links go to the Jeremy Tyler workout, here's the direct one to Vucevic's:
http://www.nba.com/blazers/video/2011/0 ... ic-1736542

Yeah his dad played on the national team with Drazen Petrovic. And he has low body fat %. I only don't like his low athletic test results but otherwise he looks solid.

Tyler fouled him on every play! Tyler is more of a offensive player(very active with the ball in his hands) then a defensive player. Take a look at some of his Tokyo games, you will see he's very slow to recovery on defense and doesn't play with much effort. Will definitely get in foul trouble in the NBA. That's why he's a second year pick, the defensive potential is there but its going to take some time to come out. With that said he's still young and if I'm the knicks if he's there in the second round I'll pick him.

Vucy killed Tyler in those videos. He was bullying him as well as exposing his defense with fairly good footwork. Tyler looks like an absolute bum on defense. Dude wasn't even trying. He did look nice on offense, but he looked to have more of a finesse game than anything else. Pass. Unless we're taking Motie (who has committed by putting on A LOT of muscle this summer) I want a bruiser. Tyler is a used car salesman, no thanks, unless we're picking him up with a throwaway second and stashing him in the D-League.

Where are the guys who killed Vucy and want Tyler with a late first after watching this video?

For a guy who's forced to play PG he's doing a pretty good job. Getting another late 1st rounder and him learning a thing or two from Chauncey ...

I've 4 guys in who I think the Knicks want and so do I. I got Klay, Bismack, Jimmer, or Brooks. I don't know if they'll have to move up to get them but any of those 4 and I think it'll be a good draft.

As of right now, all four will be gone. It will come down to Vucevic, Motie, or Shumpert if those other 4 are gone. I hope we stay away from Markieff, Singleton, and Faried just b/c they play positions where our two best players play.

I think were gonna get that Minny pick, #20

Dont know who, what where or when..but just a 'feeling'

That pick definitely won't belong to Minnesota come draft day, they dont need anymore young talent...they need vets to help the young guys, its time for that franchise to start winning...just hoping we are the team to get it..

Worst case scenario with those picks is probably MKMorris/DMorris or Selby/Vucevic

Agreed with your 4 NYman15. My number one choice would be Klay, he's a pure shooter and would fit in perfectly to our team - he does remind me a bit of Reggie Miller too and would be the perfect type of player to punish teams for doubling on Melo/STAT.

Jimmer is similar without the height and could probably become a bit better at getting to the rim at times with his strength, if he works on it.

Biyombo, goes without saying - brings the potential for great defence which is a big need.

Brooks doesn't impress me like the other three do but I think he could be a pretty decent player and if those three are gone, I'd prefer to pick him up than a lot of the guys in there who just seem pretty average.

Montiejunas if he falls to us would be a player that could be really good in this system too. Don't think he will fall though.

Probballdraft Probasketballdraft
The Knicks are discussing trades & there seems to be an opening w/ MIN where NY could get Johnny Flynn. NY still trying to trade up too.

What could we offer to get Flynn and the 20?

I don't know, Minnesota doesn't need Douglas, but as long as Douglas is on our roster we don't really need Flynn (I mean, neither is really a classic point guard). If for some reason they were interested in Douglas + Walker for Flynn + 20 then that would probably make sense for the Knicks, but I don't see the benefit for Minn.

NY Trades Toney Douglas, Balkman, $3 Million
NY Receives #28, #30, filler

+Flynn
+Grant Hill @ 1 Yr
+17 = Biyombo

Not sure what we'd be giving up, but I wouldnt mind Flynn

As Falstaffxx said, neither is a classic PG, but Flynn would run the point wayy better than Toney, not as good a shooter, but he gets to the rim with ease, and Toney rarely took it to the basket.

I doubt Minny does Toney for Jonny+20, wonder what else we'd have to give up..

Why the hell would we have to throw in Walker, $3 million, and a future second along with Fields in order to get a guy who shot 36% last year and the #20 pick? I don't know if I would even do Fields alone for Flynn + 20. Fields was a top 5 rookie last year and can be a valuable player for us off the bench. Flynn averaged 5 ppg last year.
