Why hasn't Mason been waived yet, regardless of Bynum? Why guarantee his deal when you don't have to? Just waive him and sign him to 10 days.

Mason is clearly not getting waived. If we want Bynum, I'm sure it'll be Joel leaving.

Not necessarily, I think the heat are keeping mason cuz they dont know if Bynum will come. Even if we dont waive Roger Mason, we may just cut him, lose 500 k. Not that big of a deal.

Yeah, but then we only have Wade, Rio, Cole, and Ray as guards. That's not good enough. The team was already worried about guards, as we heard in earlier in the season where they were looking for guard help. They aren't going down to 4 guards and 11 front court players, that would foolish.

Or cut JJ, make him an assistant coach or something. He's not getting any playing time ever again anyway.

No way, just no way lol, granted hes not playing but thats ridiculous. It means ur throwing away 7.6 mil dollars into the water. (Joel has a player option for 3.8 mil next year) U cant cut him, u have to try to trade him after this year to some team trying to get an expiring contract to clear cap, next year. You cant cut him.

We threw money away cutting Mike Miller.

Edit: I'm not arguing that this is what we should do or what we are going to do. I'm just pointing out the possibility.

Yes, but amnestying Mike took him out of the cap, yes u still have to pay him his money, but u didnt have to pay luxury taxes for his salary. Waiving Joel saves no money at all, his salary still counts against the cap. I just dont think its a possibility at all, this is a business at the end of the day. Micky Arison is not doing that. No

Mason will not play a single minute in the playoffs and as it appears they want him instead of bynum. where is the logic ?

Yup. We could get him, but doesn't look like we're excited about him

Logic is they saw bynum try to play defense with the Cavvs and said no thank you. Never thought the heat wanted him at all. Hes a shell of his former self
