I'm sure you remember those two back to back fast breaks Kansas had where JJ was wide open for an easy lob and the guy leading the break didn't even consider his existence. That would have been an easy two points both times. Simple basketball. Instead, they got stuffed on both. It was silly.

It would be similar to us in our big 3 era, and we had Wade leading the break with Lebron James on one side and Mario Chalmers on the other, and Wade would pass to Chalmers instead of letting James make a play destined for Sportscenter.

Frank Jackson and Duke on ESPN3 at 1230 today.

Indiana also on today, so if you're interested in seeing two other highly valued prospects, Anunoby and Thomas Bryant, then tune in at 7 EST.

Yeah i noticed it yesterday. There was a few times he was open under the rim, or cutting to the rim, & they would give it to the other guy who would shoot contested shots. & missing most of them. I don't know if there is some animosity going on there but coach better straiten that out if they want to compete.

We need to trade Dragic for a first round pick and tank. Need to. This class is loaded.

But keeping Dragic is pointless. He's a good player, has an affordable contract. Definitely an asset that can bring something over.

Why would you want just something. Only trade him to improve the roster.

It's not pointless he solidify a position for at least the next 3 years. If we are expecting to be good within that time frame keep him until there is an opportunity to improve.

You trade him to improve your future.

As I said, Dragic has good trade value right now. As time goes on, that value will decrease, because he's on the wrong side of 30. Keeping him around when you're not really competitive only to watch his value decrease absolutely is pointless.

Not just any draft pick. I would likely wait till draft to weigh the options and know the exact pick.

But waiting lowers your chance of getting a good pick, not increase it. If the pick is really good, the holders are more likely to hold on to it.

You could get a mid level draft pick + a young guy with room to improve in return for Dragic, that's a solid bet. Especially if you do your scouting right. And we all know Riley likes this draft class.

I hope you guys realize that most lottery picks don't become all-stars. We're probably better off keeping Dragic and hoping our lottery pick exceeds expections. Also, realize that Dragic is a young 30 yo.

Very convincing argument you've got there.

I personally think its better for both sides that we find another team for him. We need to do a full rebuild and he's better off on a team trying to win now. It doesn't have to be only a first round pick, maybe someone gives us another young guy we could add to our core to develop. His age just doesn't match with our window. We have to be great from 2019-2021 since that's when the two picks we owe are unprotected. We need to spend 2-3 years commiting to youth and compiling as many assets as we can.

Actually it does, less risks mean more initially on draft night unless it's a team not wanting of draft pick which is unlikely

The best time to trade is draft night and the trading deadline

But we've already started building something. We have plenty of youth and they're plenty of championship caliber teams with starters over 30. We don't need to strip down the team looking for a superstar the next 5 years, all we need are superstar caliber free agents and hope the players we draft without tanking turn out to be great. Winslow hasn't even been given 3 years to develop in the NBA and you want to strip this team down. Why would we even tank when we don't have a couple of our 1st round picks for about the next 5 years? We're not the post-Lebron Cavaliers where we can tank without trying, we actually have a solid base to build around.
