But one player that was overlooked is Jack. He looked gazillion times better than Sessions and actually played team ball and set others up in good spots as well.

That being said Frank really impressed me with his court vision/playmaking and already elite level D.

I'm not basing the following comment on Frank having a decent game, but Sessions seems to me like he's getting cut. I'm making this comment for I think the 4th time, but it doesn't get that much traction. Anyway, I think the Knick's coaching staff is pretty disappointed in Session's PG abilities and what he has to offer as a mentor. I get that Noah is out, so Knicks have 12 regular season games and preseason to try out a player. But the player they decided to try out in Jack, when they signed Sessions, had drafted Frank, have Baker. Now, if it was Burke they were giving time to, for example, it would be they are using the spot on a young pro to kick the wheels etc. But in preseason they were practically forcing the minutes on Jack and they continue to give him minutes in the season. Ok, Frank was banged up, but doesn't make sense if it's injury depth temporarily. It's telling that they took the opportunity Noah's suspension gave them to try another vet PG. It means the vet PG they signed hasn't impressed them with his "veteran-ness".

I see Sessions getting cut once Noah comes back

Sessions never should have been signed as a mentor. He was always a bench player/ 3rd point guard. The only reason he’s here is because no expected Jack to have anything left in the Tank. I’m pretty sure Curry gave props to Jack after winning MVP one year. Jack probably decided to hang out with Melo this summer because he knew we had the worst PG rotation in the league. So it be his only chance to ever play again. Seems like his plan worked perfectly.

I kinda think Bagley would be a better fit for our team. He's the perfect 4 that allows KP to play the 5.

I would talk to the Wizards about swapping Oubre for Hernangomez...

The Knicks have potential to be the longest team in the NBA with a 6'6 PG and a 7'3 4/5.. Phil was awful in free agency, but he obviously had a clue in the draft building an identity.

Scary part is we almost drafted Malik Ben Gordon Monk. :o

Both our recent draft picks in Porzingis and Ntilikina are so unique in their combination of size and skillset they'd be best paired with an undersized SG and C. Luckily, there's plenty of those to choose from.

Fun game to watch. Liked the defensive effort for the most part.
Good to feel positive about the team going forward after the eye test on FN. He's heady.
Would be great If they could add another high pick this year though.

That being said anybody notice KP come up a little lame after his steal and dunk towards the end of the game?
Hope it was just cramps and not the achilles.

Also can anyone who can rewatch the game confirm whether or not FN was being fitted for a knee brace before he came in. Think I saw it when Kanter was taken out and camera followed him to the bench?

I get home watch the highlights within 10 seconds I see the pass he made to Kyle and yell oh **** as I do when a sick dunk/play happened live and got all hyped.

I just saw his defensive video too. The kid was injured in that first game. Because he looked like a damn veteran outthere. So composed. Smooth as hell. So cerebral. The plays he made. My goodness.

My first thought after watching his offense and defense highlights was "we got the best player in the draft".

And with that who wants to serve me my crow?

PS. Our tank is ****. This is why we can't have nice things.

You owe me an apology. We went at it the last 3 months with Frank and you called me a homer x1,000 times.

I always *hated* the last 8 minutes. Melo dominated and destroyed our offense. Well guess what - team basketball is baaaaack!

You do this in every thread. Get over Melo and enjoy what was a great night for the Knicks future.

Diagnosis: Obssesive compulsive disorder

Subdiagnosis: Melodrama(tic) neurosis

Kanter - had a good +/- and showed his first real efforts at D
McBuckets - positive contribution
We won easily, and we won the way we want to win with good D and team offense.

Melo - missed last second shot
OKC loses - the way we used to always lose games at the very end.

I feel like we're that guy who just got himself out of quicksand before he sunk down forever. The contrast is delicious. So it will take a while until we all know we have a new team identity that we can enjoy. For now, it's still amazing.

They can plug Doug Mcdermott into the starting lineup as well

Frank
Dotson
McDermott
KP
Kanter

Seems like that lineup could play really well together

What's more, we're on a path to having a fun and modern team to watch. We might finally not be behind the curve. If they can get another draft pick by trading vets we could have a fresh starting lineup next year.

PG: 3pt shooter
SG: Ntilikina
SF: Doncic
PF: P&R guy / rebounder
C: Porzingis

That’s the dream. Although it is a bit surprising you still want Frank at SG.

It's what he is. He's more Andre Igoudala than Andre Miller. He's a very methodical person, he thinks everything through. He knows they presented him as a PG of the future so that's the role he's playing right now. That's why he's hesitant to look for his own shot.

I was most impressed with his ability to move without the ball. Most rookie Points just stand behind the arc and wait to get the ball back.. Frank was setting screens and finding holes in the defense off the ball. You can't teach that IQ.

I'd like to swap Hernangomez for Hernangomez. He has more fire, at least before the Mono anyway.

Yeh I noticed the same thing with KP after that dunk but I think it was more of a fatigue thing because he kinda smiled at somebody when he got back on defense and continued to play for a few for minutes. The smile he gave was as if he knew the dunk wasn't what the crowd was hoping for... idk

And yes, I saw one if the trainers put on a right knee brace a few minutes after the game started. I seemed it was one of those knee braces with cushion, maybe to protect his knee just in case he bumps that knee again.

Yeah I'd give Jack some more games and see how it goes. Because once you throw Frank in you can't go back, there's nowhere to turn after that, have to make sure he's prepared. I think the Lakers are screwing up with Ball throwing him out there in the national spotlight when he's clearly not ready to lead a team. He's going to wear down and then you have to send him to the bench.
