Which PG of ours has a consistent shot? (and no, Trier is not a PG)

So based on that, I think Frank can play because he's our best defender at PG. Frank's 4-5 3pt shooting last game might be an anomaly but he has good form. I think as long as he keeps defenses honest, then he doesn't have to be a great shooter. Take Ellington for example, he is FAR from consistent, but he keeps defenses honest because he's supposedly a shooter and he can get going if you leave him open.

I hope this narrative that Fiz doesnt care about Frank dies, we dont need that negativity surrounding the team spreading through the media or fans like French Knicks pod. Fiz always talks about how Frank is a great kid and Fiz even got thrown out of a game sticking up for Frank against charlotte last year.
Fiz also played Frank 22 minutes a game and called him his swiss army knife. Frank just sucked and has now had two good games.

Fizz also compared Lance Thomas to Draymond Green so i would take what comes out of his mouth with a grain of salt. Fizz had a short leash with Frank all last year. You can tell Frank was looking over his shoulder and playing shook all season long.

This is what people don't get about why Frank sucked last year. A new coach who kept him on a short leash because he preferred Mudiay and Burke as PGs since they were more aggressive and were more experienced. Says he values defense but kept playing bad defenders, or was it because we were tanking?

Fizdale seems to prefer PGs who can penetrate and break down defenses, which is why he played Frank in other spots thinking he can just excel that way. But what Frank needed was a set role running set plays, not a free offense playing different positions because then he'd be lost out there. It also didn't help that Frank was dealing with nagging injuries.

So injuries and playing out of position plus inconsistent minutes and a short leash, and then we all wonder why Frank regressed from his rookie year. Other players might not have let that bother them and it's not an excuse for him but Frank seems to have confidence issues especially coming from a different type of league. It's good that the Knicks didn't quit on him though (not like they had a choice with his low value).

The player he reminds me of is Doug Christie. Long, lengthy. Intense defender. Great role player. Down to having the yips about shooting early in his career.

That’s a pretty great comp...

Eddy Curry has a comp with Christie, to.

Not Doug, but Chris Christie.

Mitch / Gibson
Morris / Randle
Knox / Dotson
Barrett / Trier
Frank / Smith

Get Portis and Ellington in China... Randle is allowed to play only as a 6th man like in LAL

2 points in 4th quarter by Doncic, that is all we need to know.

Yea people need to give him credit lol. Elite defenders almost never shut down the truly elite offensive players. That guy is going to get his usual numbers on lower efficiency. But you’ll remember the key turnovers or forced passes that can be game changing. And frank has done that to Luka two games in a row.

He plays defense like a superstar by now. Hate the passivity on offense. It kills me.

Luka had more turnovers than field goals when guarded by Frank. I think Frank did his job well enough.

dog.

as has been pointed out, luka had more TO than points with frank as primary defender. and luka had like 2 points in the 4th quarter when frank got back out of the penalty box.

dallas wins that game handily if luka didn't have to deal with frank down the stretch.

Luka turned the ball over 7 times with Frank defending him

Luka and KP combined to shoot 6-19 (KP was 0-6) with Frank as the primary defender

The first game the refs were much looser with the whistles, and that was a big part of why Frank looked so great. But even last game, he played some pretty spectacular defense in the fourth while having 5 fouls the whole time
