We need guys who can score man, it's painfully obvious. Locking people down is nice, but not when you can't score yourself. We struggle to score on mediocre defenses. There isn't enough variety in our offense. It's time to start cashing in these long boi chips for some established ballers. Or we can look for longer guys that can score without us having to teach them how.
Looking at tankathon, I'm thinking we'll pick anywhere from 10-15. At the moment, they have those guys as Jarace Walker, Kel'el Ware, Anthony Black, Dillon Mitchell, Kyle Filipowski, and Dariq Whitehead. Out of those 6, I'd LOVE Anthony Black, Kyle Filipowski, or Kel'el Ware.
Some guys ranked lower who I'd also be super happy with are Gradey Dick (16), Terquavion Smith (22), GG Jackson (23), or Arthur Kaluma (25).

Re: 2023 Draft Prospect discussion
Teams are just going to zone us up all the time. Playmaking/unselfish play combined with good shooting OR a dominant post scorer can change that. The 2 focus areas are centre and a combo guard who can break down the defense.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I wonder if there's a deal we can make surrounding Mr. Suggs

lucky for us this is looking to be a crazy good draft once again. especially with scoring guards, which is exactly what we need.

Last time we tanked we took the best defensive prospect over scoring. Not sure I have faith in this team's approach.

The best prospect since LeBron is in this draft. Imagine having such a talent on the Raptors. Dynasty incoming if we can get him

Re: 2023 Draft Prospect discussion
In current draft position, Anthony Black is realistic (Smith's arrival will drop his scoring stats). Big PG that will just get better, all around game, physical. Someone you got to take a hard look at. He should mesh well with Scottie. But the key to this lineup if you keep Scottie/OG/Siakam is a shot blocking C (preferably someone who can score).

Re: 2023 Draft Prospect discussion
Anthony Black is going to be a star, I'd bet big money on it. And if we're looking for a shot blocker who has the potential to be a scorer then Kel'el Ware could be our guy. Multiple picks in a draft like this could be franchise altering.ItsDanger wrote:In current draft position, Anthony Black is realistic (Smith's arrival will drop his scoring stats). I think 7th is realistic, and 7 has had a lot of luck throughout history moving up.
I'm tanking if I'm the raptors

Cason Smith or Brandon Miller would be amazing.

Re: 2023 Draft Prospect discussion
I have no idea why we shouldn't tank. Play-in for what? Anthony Black is in our range right now. We're legit in the tank race.

Re: 2023 Draft Prospect discussion
I'll say this. All these losses and subpar performances will make Masai's "evaluating" much easier. It's becoming clearer and clearer that we're just not playing to our standards. Now I don't know if it's a mental hurdle or a talent gap issue. But I do think if we continue to play the way we are, Masai will be forced to pick a direction (Tank/Rest).
