I would gladly trade Lavine for Kyrie. That would lower our Payroll by 40 mil next summer, assuming Kyrie doesn't resign. I'd gladly use all the cap space to rebuild the roster around DeRozan.

A lot of people don't support bigotry and damaging conspiracy thinking.

I mean he was suspended and publicly ridiculed and has paid his dues according to Silver. I think that stuff is behind him now. His production is still ridiculously good.

It's always something with Kyrie. Maybe the anti-semitism is behind him (press X to doubt), but something else will pop up. Like this, requesting a trade out of nowhere away from a contending team.

Absolutely an insanely talented, skilled, impactful player, he's just not worth all the other nonsense for me. He'll come here, play well, miss games for weird reasons, drum up some awful controversy, then demand a trade less than a year later.

Yeah, hard pass from me.

I don't either, but if we're going to be honest about it, let's admit that pretty much everyone supports bigotry and damaging conspiracy thinking when it suits them and it's aimed at safe targets. Irving is just an **** who doesn't choose safe targets. Which, himself, makes him a safe target for others to demonstrate their righteousness and outrage at bigotry and conspiracy thinking upon.

I don't support bigotry or damaging conspiracy thinking in any form, so please don't speak for me.

Eh. He might be right. I support bigotry against both bigots and conspiracy whack jobs. I’m not above the fray.

You want to build around a 34 year old guard?

The most likely way to do that is to double down on the Big 3 and trade away more youth and draft picks to do so. Awesome.

But I won’t judge them based on rumors. We’ll see what they do, but I don’t trust AKME as far as I can throw them. And I’m not very strong.

On the one hand:
This is exactly what I expect and I hate it.

On the other hand:
Unless it actually happens, and it happens in a way I hate, I won't criticize it.

My general thought is:
Good: Trade short term assets for long term assets
Meh: Swap deck chairs on the titanic, hoping for better short term results
Bad: Trade long term assets for short term assets to improve short term results

I'll trust Shams here over our local beat reporters who likely is more plugged in on what's going on around the league.

Just don't let it be Westbrook please...

Or calling getting Lonzo back a mid-season acquisition...

Like, actually make a trade.

1. He is the most valuable asset
2. His value has peaked
3. He is an expiring next year and probably gone irrespective

Get what you can for Demar.
Get what you can for Vuc.
Get what you can for Caruso.
Rest Lavine as much as possible.
Give the ball to Pat.
Play Terry.
Cross your fingers during the lotto.

First I disagree that DeRozan is the most value asset. He is the best player but he’s also 33, teams won’t go above and beyond to acquire him.

Second crossing your fingers for a lotto is no plan. Tanking isn’t a plan either. Bulls got together a solid core and you want them to just destroy it all and rebuild again?

Sure things haven’t been great but why not suggest making moves to improve the team? They can do that too, it doesn’t always have to be TANK no matter what. If AK is a good at his job he will figure out a way to makes this team better and make a run for the playoffs.

Who is a better asset?

Why not have two or more shots on goal at the lotto?

Sure, if they can make a move to improve the team that'd be great but what good is it just make the playoffs and fizzle out?

Why Bones? Coby does a lot of what he does already. He may be slightly better offensively but is probably worse on defense.
