Sure, if fields played like a top 5 qb he probably would have kept the job but he was far from bad. Good actually.
He was better than average in Chicago with piss poor coaching.
I would bet Fields doesn't remain the starter for the Jets for the whole season. Unless they're tanking.
I’d take that bet. He finished the second half of his last season here playing really well. Played better than really well with a winning record with the Steelers. And if anyone has a good idea about what fields can do, I would think the guy who coached against him for a few years would.
I saw enough of Fields in his 3 years here. So frustrating watching him hold onto the ball forever, then take off running time after time. I don't think he's a winning QB, unless you have a really good defense and just want to run the ball a lot and try to win games where neither team breaks 20 points.
