You're talking about a guy who averaged ~26-8a-6r from 21-23 and finished 7th in MVP voting in 21-22.

While their issues are different, I think he and Zion are comparable: both are franchise players, but you wonder how much they actually care about basketball.

MartyConlonJr may be right that the juice isn't worth the squeeze when it comes to Morant, but from a talent standpoint, we're talking about a guy who has been and could be all-NBA. Riley and this organization love a reclamation project, and Morant would be that if he were ever to become available.

While Morant isn't a perfect fit, he has a lot of the skills Miami lacks (creative ball-handler, gets to the FT line at a high rate, is elite at getting to the basket).

It’s time to strike out.

In all seriousness, we’re holding out for Giannis whether some of us believe we can get him or not.

Ja is very talented but can’t get out of his own way if he tried. I was a big proponent of trading for him at one point now easy pass. Selfish player that puts himself firmly before the team and the type of guy that would drive Spo up a wall

Regardless of his antics, if you can get him on a buy low, you buy.

No idea what they'd even be looking for. I'm guessing youth to build around jj.

Their pf (jj), c (edey), and sf (wells and coward)are set. I'd imagine kcp would be flipped for youth if ja is moved or send them off as a pair.

And i doubt any team gives more than 1 pick for current ja. I think Miami could put together a competitive package. Bam and ware could really use a pg.

Hypothetical Dame package ended up being better than Dame. Same thing will be true for hypothetical Morant package.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I think Spo can do good things with Morants talent and I even think there is a chance (about 30%) Spo can work with Morant on a personal level. But I do not think Morant can handle Miami lifestyle, the temptations and doors that would open.

You seen how easy Morant got blackmailed in Utah's strip clubs with them ugly snowbunnies. Imagine Miami in general let alone those strip clubs

I have to applaud the fact that some on here can be wildly optimistic about Davion Mitchell, Jovic, Jakucionis and so on while being unrelentingly pessimistic about players who have already made the all-NBA team, have made multiple all-star teams, and in some cases will be 1st ballot HOFers.

Being delusional in our own has been one of our biggest flaws since acquiring Jimmy.

If you're referring to me I have never called or made out any of those current guys to be a star. Even if some fans are optimistic about our current players they can also decide certain "stars" in the league they don't like or are fans of. By your logic if Rudy Gobert is available all of our fans should clamor and rush to want him?

In Ja Morants case let's ignore the stupid suspensions he's caused himself. The fact he publicly basically called out his coaches. Let's also ignore the fact the offense we're currently running he was basically the reason their coach got fired for it because he didn't like it. Its also funny to me the same way yall bash Herro for not showing up in the playoffs Morant basically has done the same outside of 1 series. Let's also ignore the fact Morant misses games whether it's due to injury or suspension. Yes. Lets be delusional.

Feels like we've got a pretty tough schedule to start the year. Not many games at home, and a lot of solid teams outside of the Hornets.

How depressed is Ja Morant's value? Is anyone giving up anything of consequence for him?

He's in that Zion tier now. On paper, good player, but too many question marks for anyone to give up a bucketload of assets for.

Morant would be out of the league in a few years, not worth getting.
