Thinking about Giannis Parker's scenario:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nvsh6kpNot sure how much of this is information he's heard (thanks for sharing!) vs speculation (however much informed), but either way until the ink is dry it stands to reason that things could be shifted around.
The key components are the Kings and LAC picks going to the Suns. Phoenix also would be valuing both Ersan and Thompson positively here.
Last trade deadline we were getting whispers that the Suns would take on Ilyasova so maybe that is still the case. However I could see him heading to the Kings who have been targeting a stretch 4 all season. Also am presuming the Suns would badly want to bring Dudley back, but at this point I doubt the Bucks would do that for this package. Rather I think we have added motivation to deal Ersan to make it more justifiable to resign Jared.
Not sure about the cap implications of this deal all around. If this messes with Phoenix's plans to sign max free agents no way they take on the salary.
Conversely, the Bucks pick up an extra $9.2 million in cap space according to ESPN trade machine math in this deal. If that's right
$9.2 million in cap space might be the main part of the deal for us.
That could make us serious players for Monroe / Koufos / Kanter etc. this off season.
I don't know how I feel about keeping Stauskas vs leveraging his asset value. Knight / Middleton seems like plenty of long term investment at SG to me. Then again if Kidd gets him to develop his value would increase, and we don't know if there are other teams offering worthwhile pieces for him at the moment otherwise.
Not sure how to think about Plumlee vs ZaZa. It doesn't seems like an upgrade for the short term and since he's 26 I don't know how long term it is either. ZaZa is 31 and those 5 years matter a lot, but unless the Kings seriously value Pachulia this might be more about getting under the cap to sign a longer term replacement than it is about us liking Plumlee.
