Wow, as early as next week. Sounds somewhat serious. I don't trust Denver however. Temper expectations.

But league sources say the deal was overblown and New Jersey was actually leaking the story in an effort to pressure Denver's new front office regime of Josh Kroenke and Masai Ujiri into making a deal.

Nope. Incarcerated Bob is one of the biggest jokes around these boards.

One day after Melo's sister passed away tragically, Sideshow Incarcerated Bob had "breaking news" that the Nets were meeting with Melo and that he agreed to sign an extension in NJ.

Long story short, the guy is a total tool.

That's a negative. He said Melo had accepted an extension with the Nets. He knows nothing. He speaks to nobody.

Walsh is sticking to his guns. Still, I might throw in a #1 to sweeten the deal, while keeping Fields and Gallo out of it. As I say...I'd offer to sell them our 2011 pick on draft night.

the difference between this and gasol is the lakers weren't about to sign him in the summer anyway. totally different circumstances.

Do you disagree that this would be a bigger fleece than the Lakers trade? We're giving up Curry, Chandler, and Randolph for Carmelo if this deal goes through. That's robbery.

They would be getting a first rounder from Minny, Chandler, Brewer and like $20 million in savings. That's a great deal for a team with no options, no need to sweeten the pot.

Also KG why are you so obsessed with pawning off Gallo. Not obsessed with pawning him off. I'd be more than happy to keep him and/or use him to fill another need. I just rather keep Fields and Mozgov. But if we can keep Fields, Mozgov and Gallo, all the better.

Chandler is a nice player and he can play 2 which makes him interesting with Melo. But I have no problem giving up Chandler and Randolph for Melo (obviously).

If this trade (hopefully!!!) goes through within the next couple of days and bring in carmelo, do you all realize that we have a showdown with the lakers on ESPN this Friday.

Can you imagine how much the garden will be rocking for a melo amare vs kobe gasol showdown???

I dont want to get to much ahead... but the thought of that in the garden is nuts.

The knicks direction is only pointing up.
