Just as bad as Dolan is the state of this board. The massive influx of disrespectful, creepy posters has poisoned this place. The thugs want to bash people for anything they consider disloyal to the Knicks while they contribute little of value to the board in the process.

The quality of conversation has fallen off a cliff here and the point should be not only a shared interest in the Knicks, but also about making this a hospitable and friendly place to talk. It is not that way now. This has become an ugly, disgusting place and all of the pleasure of being a poster here has been taken out of it.

I blame RealGM for a total lack of standards and allowing so much hateful rubbish to be spewed here. The mods could do better, but it is not really their fault, because the site owner's really don't care about standards of conduct.

(which Melo didn't and still doesn't). Frugality at the right time, when you previously overspend for Jerome James, Eddy Curry, Larry Brown and Isaiah Thomas. Matter of fact, let's bring in a fat, bench PG from a lottery team, pair him up with a 40 year old and we're set for the future! Perfect time to be frugal New York Knicks. Having Lin gave them an x-factor, which in reality could have pushed them to contention if everything worked out. Now, the reality is they are a treadmill team, with nothing to show for Linsanity. How do they not even conduct a sign and trade is beyond me.. just laughable. This is why the Knicks will always be who they are.. I'm glad I'm not a Knicks fan.

How did Lin take Knicks to playoffs. For your info NBA season doest consist of seven or so games (thats the number of games where Lin had really good performance and lead the team).

But Knicks reached the playoffs without Lin. The Linsanity helped but wasnt the main reason to reach playoffs.

There are some turds here taking great delight in Lin's departure, as if it makes us a better team. No sincere Knicks fans should be happy today. But go on their post history and they're just (90 %) huge Melo homers, who were doubting Lin even during the height of Linsanity. Just create a massive ignore list dude.

That's what I'm doing in case I do stick around to read the board even I post little or not at all.

Any person who would go out of their way to mock other Knicks fans or spew hatred towards Lin on a day like this lack any trace of humanity. My ignore list is growing quickly considering how many of these creeps are here. Its outrageous how ready they are to rub it in. They relish the opportunity to behave like vicious infants.

Pacer fan here, and I too hate Dolan (not as much as you guys though).

This might've already been posted, but it sums it up pretty well:

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8174968/jeremy-lin-leaving-new-york-knicks-james-dolan-blundered-again

Even if Jeremy Lin doesn't play well next year, he's an asset for enough non-basketball reasons that another team will always be willing take a risk on him. This isn't Jim Dolan folding pocket aces. It's Jim wiping his ass with pocket aces, paper-cutting himself repeatedly with them, and then devouring the whole mess, like Cronos and his babies, in front of a horrified audience.

Of course it was out of spite. Nothing else makes sense.

Pretty much.

The only hope for knicks is that somehow Dolan croaks or if in one of his hissy fits he decides to sell. I think the latter just might happen once the Lin backlash occurs and it will occur.

Give me a break. There are more Melo/Woodson/Felton/Dolan/JR bashing posts, and threads, around here than anything else.

And as far as contributing to the discourse, how does saying Lin's departure will lead to a curse, like the Bambino's, help things?

You hose on poster's opinions like clockwork. Today is no exception. I can't take what you just said seriously considering how you are a total sour puss in everything you post. Good times or bad, you're just a total downer.

"We no longer had Lowry or Dragic," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said in an interview with SI.com late Tuesday night, "and at that point we thought it made sense to offer him more money and increase our chances of getting him."

I guess I total understand why Knicks fans want to believe in all these rumors or conspiracy stories saying that:
Lin is greedy.
Lin is a risk, got exposed by Miami.
Lin can't play at 85% and dont want to risk his contract.
Lin went for more money after knowing Knicks would match.

Knick fans really need some reasons to hate this guy so they won't feel too hurt, so they can move on.

It's so simple to turn Lin into a jerk.
People will start believing all these rumors after keep hearing them.

You're confused. I didn't create this thread and I didn't sticky it. I was posting in a thread that got used as part of the merge a mod did to create this thread. Hence, my name appeared as the first post. Doesn't matter. I see you've been busy celebrating today and your appearance in this thread is just one more instance of that.

Celebrating? Sorry I'm a Knicks fan not a Lin fan. I won't say anything further. Being baited by a mod is interesting stuff.

Clyde, I am with you 100% brother. This move allowing Lin to walk is unspeakably disappointing to me. The kind of move where I "wish" I could say "Forget it, I'm done." I can't and won't do that, but whatever.

The way our team is constructed, we have some really nice pieces. Melo, Chandler... Amare is flawed but if he's maximized he can do some things. I think we can make a little noise but I don't think we have enough. Since we have little to no flexibility with our cap situation, what we need to add in order to compete, are guys that can grow; become better than what they are now. Lin was one of those guys. What he did in those few games showed not only that he has that potential, he also was already really nice piece to the overall puzzle.

Point guard has been a problem. In some regard, we addressed that with our signings, but all come with big question marks. Kidd, age. Felton, desire. Prigioni, a complete question mark in terms of what he can do in the NBA. The three of them together, ok, not bad. But with Lin we knew exactly what we had.

Not a perfect player, but a wonderful skill set, one which we needed. Factoring in his very young age, and the type of person he is (smart, and dedicated) he was/is likely to improve and smooth out the rougher aspects of his game.

The fact that we just let him go with nothing in return on top of everything makes it even worse. If we weren't going to pay him down the road, at least match the contract then move it later on when we the contract becomes tradeable and get at least 1 first round pick, and possibly 2, along with an expiring contract so we can then at least have the hope of adding those players which can blossom later, as mentioned before. With all the majority of the big contracts we have up in three years, if we end up breaking it down, what we'll need mostly are good draft picks. That opportunity was wasted.

All of that is out the window, and I'm thoroughly disgusted as a Knicks fan. One of the worst days ever as a fan.

I agree with anyone and everyone who suggests this is a VERY dark day in NY Knicks history. We just allowed an ultra-valuable asset to walk away for NOTHING!

Dolan---you are a fool!

....and my prediction was wrong. I admit it.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

What is just as mind boggling as the Knicks going with Felton is how many "fans" believe Lin is not even that good a player. I won't even go into it. There are more stupid people walking this Earth than I was willing to once believe.
