Feeling a bit down too.

Worked my ass off for past 6 years in College to get into Dental School. Also 6 years instead of 4 because I am finishing an Accounting degree (63 credits on its own), Accounting is my back-up plan since Dental School acceptance rates aren't that high. Even though I got grades that will get me into Dental School, all I needed to do this year was take the Dental School admissions exam called the DAT. I get a good score on that and I am most likely in.

However, my family has been in a rough financial situation the past year and a half. I had to pull out a loan and 3k from a credit card just to pay my CUNY tuition with is 3k per semester since I don't get much financial aid for some reason. I worked full time all summer and most of my money went to help out with bills and rent, I work now part time since I am taking classes....

Problem is I can't even get the $350 needed for the exam fee, not to mention I will need around $400 in application fees. So I was running out of time since the last chance I had to sign up for the exam and take it for this year was over a few weeks ago. I am now planning on just graduating this year and finding a job with my accounting degree ASAP and make some money. As far as Dental School, I'll see where my family is at financially a year from now and decide if I will apply. But it doesn't look like much will change by next year. I will probably have to just work with my degree and forget Dental School since it's going to be 4 years in which I really can't work during (outside of summers). Not to mention if I dorm/rent an apartment since some of them are far from where I live, I will need a lot more money.

So here I am having to basically give up something I worked really hard and put in extra time in College for. If I knew we'd be in this situation, I would have just gotten my accounting degree and graduated earlier without going through the pain of the pre-dental science courses.

The hope of me becoming a Dentist and making lots of money is fading away, and I just question myself for making that decision in the first place (should have known **** always goes downhill in my life).

Been fuked over my whole life with **** that's out of my control and this is another situation.

I'm about to finish my Master's in English Education (teaching 7-12), and I'm afraid I won't be able to find a job as a teacher. It's one thing getting a job, it's another spending another two years and a half on something that isn't guaranteed. So I kind of get what you're going through.

It it was only about the test fee, I could have just borrowed from friends. But there's also application fees and then the biggest problem of them all is the cost of attending if I get in.

There's 2 SUNYS and I want to get into one of them (since they're the cheapest). But that means I have to either dorm or rent out a place on my own and there's expenses for that which I am not sure my family can provide right now since I won't be able to work during...

I got to a CUNY so not many scholarships offered and last time I checked, scholarships are for very specific situations which I didn't meet.

Assistance jobs as far as I know depend on your financial aid needs. But I don't get much financial aid in the first place, paying this year's tuition mostly through loans.

Go to manhattan once a year but my family and I have a thing where we go to new stadiums (football basketball or baseball) in NYC I have been to 3 different stadiums (4 including jetlife) I and msg a lot so my family wants to go to Barclays for a Brooklyn vs wiz game (I will be rooting for the wiz I promise)

Just wanted to know from manhattan by Central Park what's the best subway route to Barclays?

I will probably wear one of my knick shirts to the game haha won't get shot right?

I'm taking my girl who lives in San Antonio to the sa game vs Cleveland and told her I'm wearing a rockets shirt and she keeps telling me not to because we will catch ****...not to judge but could Brooklyn fans in Brooklyn get rowdier than San Antonio fans seeing a rockets fan at a game

Take the 6 to Canal street, then either the N or Q one stop and you're at Barclays.

Duno what side of Central Park you're on, but this is a convenient way from the side I am on.

Haven't gotten feelings for a girl in a few years... met this girl that my friend brought up to college that lives in my town and felt a 'crush' feeling that I never feel.. and I have a few sex buddies that I never get feelings for. Anyway, didn't make a move for whatever reason, so I had my close girl friend try to hook it up. Girl said I was cute / really chill and nice, but is still in love with her ex and isn't talking to anyone else, but would hook up with me if she comes up again.

I'm thinking about quitting my job. It's to the point where I want to quit, even if I don't have another job lined up. I've been in the finance industry for close to 7 years and i've been extremely unhappy for the past 2 years. The things that I thought would make me happy, don't anymore. There is no work drama; I just feel completely unfulfilled and burned out.

If I quit without having another job lined up, will future employers look down on me for being unemployed? Are they going to put up with, "I was burned out and unfulfilled"?
