I just don't get SAS. He said Melo can never leave the money, and yet if Bosh bolts, Melo will take less than max and go join his rival/good friend LBJ. Smells likes BS to me.

Maybe it's LBJ's camp spilling the beans to SAS.

You're going to take that back if he signs here.

This is a big decision, why should he rush it?

Take what back? This is aimed at all of them.

How is this rushing it? They've all met with teams interested, heard the plans, what's keeping them? Time isn't going make anything different now.

Exactly. 2 days of nothing. All we've heard the last 48 hours are speculations. No news from Melo's camp whatsoever.

That's just the spin the article took. LA has more in play than just those 2 to convince him.

This doesn't look like it'll end any time soon. I don't see Bosh making a decision to leave - he wants to stay, but also wants to get more of the pie. Melo is playing the waiting game... they've all talked about playing together back when they were drafted (or something along those lines, so it was revealed when the big 3 formed). It's just last time Melo was under contract.

They all want to play together, but no-one wants a significant pay cut.

The last part of my post was just an overexageration of the process. I do think, however, that playing the logic game here(as was the case in 2010 with LeBron) puts us in a place to be let down, again.

Players have a different set of logic they seem to adhere to, which isn't gonna be the same as any fan of a specfic team (i.e. we make the most sense because...)

I don't buy the "Chicago is suspiciously quiet" idea either. They are no more quiet than Dallas is. Chicago seems quiet to me because either they know he is coming, or MORE LIKELY, they DON'T KNOW whether or not he is coming and are paralyzed until he makes up his mind. We really don't have anywhere good to go if we don't get him (outside of Lance). And they know it. So they wait and do nothing. Like any other team would in this situation.

He wants so desperately to be right about Melo and LeBron teaming up.

I don't believe that at all. He's a paid "hype man". Nothing more.

He doesn't know where they are going. WHen he does, you'll see him begin to make definitively declarative statements like he did last time when he broke Lebron to Miami.

Won't happen, man.

I've got to go into the city as well tomorrow, so it better not happen whilst im in town working. Likely will.

Having said that, even worse would be for this thing to drag on longer than it has.

Who this off season has actually taken less and picked a winning team over a poorer option with more money?

Obviously, not many guys have committed at this point, but the only guy i can think of so far is Spencer Hawes.

At least we know someone cares about winning.

which is why we were the favorite for so long. It was people just looking at it from a logical basketball view.

Same situation with lebron in 2010.

The difference between the 2010 (LeBron) situation and this offseason is:

2010: Bulls came off as an 8th seed team and lost to LeBron team in fairly easy fashion.
2014: Bulls came off as a 4th seed team (even without Rose) while Melo's Knicks team were out of playoffs.

2010: Bulls had a potentially great player in Rose but no-one knew how good he would be.
2014: Rose is known as a Former MVP and when healthy, a top 5-10 player in the NBA.

2010: Noah was known as a good hustle player who played high energy.
2014: Noah is now a defensive player of the year and known as a heart and soul of a playoff team.

2010: Bulls were unknown and no-one knew their ceiling 100% at the time.
2014: People already know that Bulls can be a top team in the East with Rose healthy.

2010: Bulls just hired a Rookie coach in Thibs and nobody knew how good/bad he would be.
2014: You have a coach of the year candidate and who already has won 1.

I think those are HUGE differences between Bulls as a player in 2010 versus Bulls as a player in 2014. In 2010, Bulls had lot of unknowns but had a potential. While in 2014, Bulls already proved that they already have reached some of their potential and now are ready to take that next step up - Championship.

So us failing in 2010 you can understand - especially when you see Wade/Bosh/LeBron teaming up coz that gave LeBron a better opportunity to win it all than by joining an unknown Bulls team.

But Melo has only 1 (between Bulls/Lakers/Knicks) to choose from where it's almost a guarantee that he would win a ring and that's a Bulls team. Unless ofcourse he chooses Heat team with them 4 joining, but if chooses Knicks or Lakers, then I think he was all about money anyways. I would respect LeBron more in that regard coz atleast he chose a ring.

These are great points. But that "WHEN HEALTHY" for the 2014 Derrick Rose is huge. Also the money discrepancy is astronomical unless if course there's a S&T in the works of course.

We're Bulls fans. The glass is always half empty with us in FA/big trades. Hey, the good news is that the Bulls will probably get Melo after his 5 year contract is over.

Melo to Miami is a fantasy for SAS imo

does Melo really want to ride Bron's coat tails and regulate himself to a spot up shooter?
