i hear that. i'm not so concerned about the quantity of passes in a highlight reel. those are made to show off whatever the video editor wants. mudiay's most impressive abilities are his athleticism. but i did see some quality passes that a true PG makes.

he reminds me of westbrook.

russell looks like a solid player, but his game is so awkward and slow. i know folks are comparing him to james harden, which is fair in terms of stlye and pace. but i haven't seen that second-gear from russell. i am trying to see more. he looks more like brandon roy out there, which also would not be terrible.

i'm excited about all of the players mentioned in the top 5 at this point. in order: okafor, towns/mudiay coin toss, Johnson, Russell.

Brandon Roy is probably the best example for him. Although I think Russell is a better long range shooter and Roy a better midrange guy but maybe that's my perception only because of the college three point line. Russell does hit bombs though. I really like Russell but he'd probably more be my guy if we had a second pick later in the draft and got stuck drafting 4rth.

Who are all the teams with two first rounders this year BTW. To tell you the truth there is no one in the top 3 that has zero questions. And I know there never is but what I mean is this year there's not this huge separation to me between guys in the top 3 and guys just outside of that from picks 4-7.

Town- I've supported him all year and still think he will defend and rebound but he could easily end up a total bust offensively. He sorta looks like one at the college level already
Okofor is pretty much the reverse. He looks like a superstar on offense who has zero care for the other side of the ball. Sorta like an Al Jefferson or even worse an Eddi Curry. Yall don't think Eddy Curry could've dominated college level competition?
Mudaiy- I have no real downside about Mudaiy except the fact that I would've never seen him against his peers in the NCAA. I heard he cant shoot.

And I'm not saying these guys stink either, I'm just saying every day we're watching Russell and Johnson put up these monster games in whichever respect they are judged and I keep finding myself making excuses for why the top three are still awesome future stars and that the last two are just solid starters. Why am I doing that? Why are the top three allowing that doubt to enter our minds? And if that doubt exists and it isn't the slam dunk we thought it was, why not consider trading down. Just hypothetical, what if the owner of the 4rth pick also had the 18th pick. Could it be worth trading the third or even the second pick. Could Stanley Johnson or Russel, along with some player in the late teens ( which I' haven't really scouted yet) add up to better than a pick only one spot before

interesting. i think if we end up with #1, we have to just take okafor. but if we get #2, i would explore a trade-down to get two picks from one of those teams behind us. #3 and #16 would be awesome. maybe something you even comtemplate with #1.

Eddy Curry definitely wouldn't be the best offensive freshman C in NCAA history though. I still see Bynum more than Curry (who was never in as good shape as Jahlil) and Al Jefferson (who can't pass like Jah and is way lacking in athleticism).

I will say I support the trade down idea. I'd trade the 1st for the 3rd-4th and a mid to late first.

Also IDK why you are justifying the top 2 being stars and not the rest. I see the star potential in the whole top 5 but if you personally don't see how a big with great touch, rebounding capabilities, and height is greater than the field that's on you.

Nope, not LATE in the first. Kaminsky will NOT be on the board late. He will be gone by 13 or 14 at the very latest! If that late.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

Well never forget that Curry had to have some redeeming quality when he was drafted. I know that end results seem to prove otherwise but lets not forget he WS drafted I think either the 2nd or third pick in a relatively deep draft. His offensive game was pretty good in the league for the couple years the Knicks featured him and he had one of the best percentages. The guy for a 315lb'er he was actually very nimble, had a hopstep and his strength alone would create tons of space. I don't think Bynum was anywhere near as athletic for his size than Curry was.

Now that Im done hyping all the good stuff you can go head and destroy me with everything he wasn't good at. But that's my point. Okofor seems to be absent at all of the same things. So my point is in one area a person can be totally dominant and then if youre absent on the other end it makes you half the player, whereas I just told you that Bynum wasn't as athletic as Curry....but Im waiting for the response of...
- but he was way better a defender
-but he was more skilled in the post
-but he rebounded

I'm ready for those responses and agree that's what makes Bynum the better player in his prime. So is Okofor more like Bynum or is he more like Curry? or lets even upgrade him more....is he more like an Al Jefferson.

The Sixers situation is the best in my opinion. You could theoretically end up, assuming the first pick is Okofor, end up with either Mudaiy or Towns and then be looking at guys like Montrezl or Carys LaVert with your second pick. If the Knicks wanna be a deep team to me it might make sense considering we still got all of free agency. Having two young studs could make it so you just go out and grab one single max player and then stay flexible for 2016. On some mocks you even got Willie Caulie Stein dropping down to near the 16th pick. I think that's a stretch but I'm sure you'd feel really good if in one draft you somehow grabbed Mudaiy and Stein.

Curry's redeeming quality was his strength, quickness (not in general but for a 300 lb man), and touch. Not his length, strength, quickness (for any big man), touch, footwork, quick decision making ability, passing ability, and turnaround jumper (from 10 feet in).

Bynum with a little more quickness, a way better ability to notice double teams, and slightly better touch is a good comparison to me. I know that's a lot of changes to Bynum but it's the closest I've seen (I'd say he compares to himself).

Now that Im done hyping all the good stuff you can go head and destroy me with everything he wasn't good at. But that's my point. Okofor seems to be absent at all of the same things. Jahlil right now is more skilled in the post than Bynum or Curry ever was. Past getting used to the physicality of the league he's well beyond them.

Just hypothetical, what if the owner of the 4rth pick also had the 18th pick. Could it be worth trading the third or even the second pick. Could Stanley Johnson or Russel, along with some player in the late teens ( which I' haven't really scouted yet) add up to better than a pick only one spot before

Based on current standings, 76ers have 3 & 16, Boston has 7 & 21, Lakers have 4 & 26

I think that's a stretch but I'm sure you'd feel really good if in one draft you somehow grabbed Mudaiy and Stein.

oh, man. mudiay and montrezl... that' s a fine day's work.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

I heard he cant shoot.

interesting. i think if we end up with #1, we have to just take okafor. but if we get #2, i would explore a trade-down to get two picks from one of those teams behind us. #3 and #16 would be awesome. maybe something you even comtemplate with #1.

Just trade THjr for a pick regardless where we pick. Clean sweep nobody but Phil's guys Anthony and Early

Yes I would trade Hardaway right now for a bottom of the 1st pick in the upcoming draft. Would love to pick up Jerian Grant, Tyus Jones or Jake "White Men Can Jump" Layman in the bottom 3rd of the 1st round. In a second I'd make a trade. Grant, Jones or Layman would be great adds to this team along with whomever they draft with a top 3 pick. Layman in fact I think could be a surprise pick of the bottom half of the 1st to early 2nd...kinda like Chandler Parsons. He rebounds, be shoots 3's, he can put the ball on the floor and he elevates for some pretty sweet dunks. For all the early talk of Melo Trimble, Layman IMO is actually the best player on the Maryland team.

Can't go wrong with any of the 4. All of them world start immediately. Only issue is that we could only get one of them

He has absolutely nothing in common with Larkin. Jones is a less quick Mike Conley; Larkin is a JJ Barea type player. Grant / Wright are 3(?) years older than him; Rozier shouldn't be higher on anyone's list than Jones; and Russell/Mudiay are two top 6/7 picks - which Jones is not.

*I like Grant and Wright (in that order), but I'd take Jones before either one of those guys.
