At least the Cavs will replace them with another former #1 Derrick Rose.

Let's see what they can get for Kyrie first, or if they're really going the rebuilding route, then yes I agree.
My all-time starting five: Hakeem Olajuwan, Michael Jordan, and three 3nD role players.

I follow the NBA, not just one team.

JJ? you mean Butler right? Irving/Butler/Towns is a scary ass team.

Cavs with Teague/Wiggins/Bron/Love/Thompson is better than the 2017 version of the Cavs.

Teague would have to go to a third team for a different PG. He's awful in the post season.

Thats the Cavs direct compeition. Unless it's a ridiculous overpay, there's no way Cleveland trades him to the (likely) 2nd best team in the East

That's the problem with teams back east. It's not about you. It's all about the west. As presently constructed, Celtics, cavs, no one is getting past the warriors. Therefore, if you have to make a deal with the enemy, you get it done to pick up Kyrie.

He would be fine with LeBron/Wiggins taking the focus off of him.

Leak the story now so that should he leave, some of the emotional blow is gone.

So again, all of this is somehow about the Lakers?

Not necessarily about the Lakers (though thats where all the smoke is), just that so much out of Cleveland is screaming "LeBron has a strong possibility of leaving" that it would be foolish to think that he's not at least keeping his options open.

I would've done Rubio/Wiggins & not looked back but I'm a big no on Teague. He's a deal breaker for me.

According to Windhorst, Kyrie seriously considered asking for a trade after last year's Finals.

In addition, Stephen A Smith said in March of 2016 that Kyrie was unhappy with the situation in Cleveland.

I'm not buying that this is all about Kyrie being butthurt over trade rumors. He's tired of being in LeBron's shadow and has been for a while.

Out of the teams mentioned the Wolves and Spurs would be a great fit.

Is the alternative to trading Irving...

Post#433 » by jpengland » Fri Jul 21, 2017 9:17 pm

...to trade LeBron?

It's looking more and more likely that LeBron leaves Cleveland at the end of the season.

He is so clearly causing huge issues with other players whilst having hamstrung the Cavs from a Cap perspective ensuring his friends get deals.

Irving is young enough to be the focal point for the Cavs moving forward. Love could also stay or could be moved if required.

What could the Cavs get? Who would gamble on either a championship this year or the chance to woo LeBron and would give good young pieces in return? Would the Celtics fire off their BKN picks?

Utah, Boston, MIlwalkee. He needs to be surrounded by shooters and defenders to cover his weaknesses. I guess San Antonio but after LMA, I'm pretty sure Pop wants nothing to do with Kyrie.

I'm upset that he didn't request the trade a month earlier- surely cp3 would have preferred to play in Cleveland with lebron rather than Houston
