This is the main/only source (so far) for the Grade 2 sprain rumor. Good news is that this guy hasn’t exactly been reliable in the past.

That being said, even if he’s only out 1-2 weeks, it’s still bad. Team needs to gel before playoffs and KD needs to get more comfortable with where his teammates are gonna be on the court in every set and vice versa and Monty needs to figure out rotations based on all that. Really hoping it’s just a few days and he’s back before a week.

Not that I expect medical expertise from a basketball player but hopefully Booker’s right this time unlike last time…

Yeah, I am not giving full credit to Duane Rankin yet when he speculates (via Greg Moore) about stuff because he has spread some misinformation before. I will wait for an official statement from the Suns or some reporter more verified than him.

Looks less like a slip and more like he landed wrong

He definitely did not slip. He stepped on it wrong.

It's happened to me but I'm not an NBA player

Only rolled ankle once which became blue later but I definitely couldn't jump immediately after it happened. Hopefully it's a good sign he continued warming up and the boot is only additional measure.

Hope we are cautious with it either way. Rather him be 100% for playoffs rather than rush him back for seeding

He worked out for a good 10-15 minutes after this slip and looked fine.

He stepped on the foot wrong going for the dunk/layup. He did not slip. Just a freak injury and in pregame warmups. The fact that he was able to workout still after it is a good sign. He likely misses 2 weeks to be cautious if xrays don't show any ligament damage. I doubt he is out for the season. Until there is an official word from Suns organization I don't know what to believe yet.

It just seems like the Suns are being super cautious with this one. You can't play basketball every day for weeks to months on end and not roll your ankle once or twice, it's just most of the time you don't see it. We ought to use this as an opportunity for the role players to get some more reps in, because they will be needed to step up more than ever come playoff time.

Seeding doesn't matter much at all. Just get to the playoffs 100 percent healthy and avoid the playin

KD will be fine. I anticipate him missing two weeks. Probably back by the game on the 25th of March. Sucks in the short term, however this isn't the worst thing in the world. The positives are, we get to have guys get some more reps in with Okogie, Ross, Wainwright, and Warren. Hoping Shamet is back soon. As mentioned by virtually everybody, KD is an easy plug and play player I don't expect this setback to impede the chemistry that already seems to have developed with Booker, CP3, DA.
The main issue I was having with KD so far was actually the lack of touches for DA, and overall DA's lack of aggressiveness. When Suns first got CP3, DA took a major step back IMO, and I feel the same happened when KD and him were playing. So I think this will reignite the fire for DA.

Those are my positives at least. :D

The only concern I have for the Suns if KD misses the rest of the regular season games is the Suns dropping out of the top 6 spots in the West.

Right now we have a 4-5 game cushion with 16 games remaining. I think we should be fine but we’re going to need Ayton to play the best stretch of his career to end the season. No more excuses for him. Time to step up.

After watching the video quite a few times and the pain that you usually feel after a Grade II sprain , I would say that it's a Grade I sprain. KD continues on the court shooting the ball.

The other option would be much worse because when you have a fracture after turning your ankle you normally don't feel a lot of pain. But I would say that Grade I sprain is a more realistic option.

We will see.

**** like this is why I didn't want to make this trade at the deadline. It would have been there this offseason...
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I can understand if there were concerns with his MCL injury but that ankle sprain could have happened to anyone, including Mikal and Cam Johnson.
