If we win the challenge and Dilly shoots FTs, that would be 71 total attempts in under 40 minutes.

This was a concern of mine going back to Kentucky. He hit it at a high rate there, but it didn’t look like a shot that would translate to a deeper line against bigger athletes. He may just need to get a little stronger. Right now he has to put his entire body into it. That’s a lot of effort for it to be consistent.

This might be the worst ref crew I have seen in a professional basketball game.

Refs may have doomed us, but that loss was well earned.

Kyrie’s is exactly the same, among many other smaller guys who hit 37%-ish and higher from deep.
Drawing from experience, a jump shot three can feel a little more violent, basically, but you do get some added power that can roll over to increased accuracy.

Re: Summer league 2024 thread
Miller played solid. He needs to be faster moving the ball tho. Minnot played well late. He really need to develop a shot and work on his in between game. So many times he drives into contact and just flails away. He isn’t that weak. Dillingham should have had a lot more assists this game. He continues to struggle finishing strong. He missed some he would typically make. His shot is fine. Nobody on the team is really kicking it out to him and instead would rather try to look good attacking shot blockers and instead get embarrassed. TSJ was pretty quiet. Them calling this many fouls really slowed the game down.
Jesse Edwards probably fumbled 8 easy passes inside. He doesn’t look like an NBA player. Not a fan of Hifi.

If anyone thinks any Wolf looked good in that game, I don’t know what you were watching.

Re: Summer league 2024 thread
Miller is not a center wolves needed a better center than Edwards (should not be hard to find) so Miller can play his natural position . Not sure why TJ held back, 5 shots is ridiculously low for a player of his talent.
This was ugly but the wolves were robbed royally.
I hate Mccain he’s a shorter more annoying and less talented Dlo.

I have lukewarm confidence in Shannon. Dillingham doesnt look nearly as quick/explosive as he looked in Kentucky. Everyone else looks like G-League.
Also known as we still need a backup PG, SF, and C

They were not passing him the ball, or setting screens for him. Also TJ was timid when it came to shooting open 3s. They were daring him and taking away the drive and he drove anyway.

Re: Summer league 2024 thread
I don’t know if I’ve enjoyed a SL less. Outside of TSJ, who is playing kids younger than him, no one has looked better than they did last year. And without significant improvement, except for Dilly, none are NBA players.
I like Dilly but on this the Wolves, who will be aiming for the #1 seed, I’m not sure he’s going to get the run I thought. I was of the mindset, you play him through growing pains because you’ll need him in the playoffs. But he’s going to be such a net negative. He will kill our defense, probably worse than DLo, and I don’t see the hope for offense this year to a level to make up for that. He literally may be the worst defensive player in the NBA this year that sees significant minutes.

Re: Summer league 2024 thread
We need to sign a quality veteran backup PG TOMORROW.
If the season started tomorrow Joe Ingles would be my backup PG and I'm not even kidding.
The Slo-Mo security blanket is gone for Finch and isn't going to be able to help mask the horrible backup guard play again.
Dillingham might be a very good player some day, but he is pretty far away right now.
He's got a great first step, but at this point that's about it.
He's gonna get abused like a ragdoll on both ends until he improves his body and gets some strength in his legs (which will also help his shooting). And that's going to take some time.
He's got a lot of dog in him though.
His defense looked ok against Philly's scrubs, but when the lights go on in October it's going to be a Tyrese Maxey level player every single night taking him to the woodshed.
That was a disgusting game to watch, even for summer league.
It wasn't the refs fault, we fouled the absolute crap out of a bunch of scrubs all game long.
Embarrasing. I almost turned it off several times it was so hard to watch.
It's great to give Ant's personal player development coach a shot, but our guys were pretty out of control on both ends.
At least Leonard Miller remembered he was a big for one game.
Nix sucks. He dribbled into traffic and took bad shots and attempted bad passes all game long and got bailed out by a bunch of foul happy scrubs putting him on the line.
If he played that same game against regular season Boston he would have been about 3 for 20 with 11 turnovers and 2 Free Throw Attempts.
Between him and Minott they don't have a teaspoon full of offensive skill.
Jesse Edwards was pretty embarrassing.
I knew he was pretty light but I didn't realize he cant jump over a phone book when he gets the ball inside.
Bona looks like a pretty solid end of the bench pick at 41. Solid but not spectacular.
Clark showed nothing other than a bunch of failed attempts to cherry pick on defense and floaters with absolutely no arc on them.
He definitely put some weight room time in last year while he was recovering though.
He looks a good deal bigger than he did in college.
TJ still looks like a rotation player to me. Couple of really bad turnovers though.
I was impressed he took the initiative with some good POA defense.
He's going to be a good open court player, and the quickness/length combo should play pretty well when the spacing gets better when playing next to more talented players.

Cancel Edwards and Nix two way deals. Luka Garcia a two way from previous years would have completely dominated out there in SL.

Gerson Rosas>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Drafter than Tim Connelly when it comes to Timbewolves players. Yes, you can bring up Culver, but Culver was still better than a quarter of the players Connelly has drafted.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

No commentary just numbers. RD is now 10/36 on 3/12 from deep. He has 20 AST to 9 TO.

No he wasn’t Culver is complete ass, even in summer league play this year. Also Bolmaro and Nowell. Rosas got lucky Ant was there and wiseman was being shady af and that McDaniels fell in his lap.
Connelly did **** the bed with the Moore pick though, but Minott and Miller are about the same as Nowell and maybe have more potential to stick around the league.

Re: Summer league 2024 thread
I watched PHI vs DET game because of Bobbi Klintman, and I knew it will be ugly because PHI play zone defense in SL. But guys, your comments are more than funny

Relax, it is just a Summer league game with bad refereeing and opponents playing zone against inexperienced rookies.
