Houston is the team that is going to be coming in hot and heavy to Bosh and BC. Who knows, maybe there have already been talks. It makes too much sense for Bosh to go back to Texas to play next to Yao for the storied Rockets franchise. The Rockets don't have great pieces but they have enough to get the deal done if that's where CB4 wants to go (and why wouldn't he?).

Rockets' draft pick - signed
2011 Knicks/Rockets 1st rounder
Rights to Sergio Lull
Jared Jeffries
Jordan Hill
Chuck Hayes
David Anderson

Seems like a lot of crap for Bosh but it actually clears a lot of cap space heading into the new CBA, which is what BC has to be targeting by now. Come out of the seemingly inevitable lockout with cap space and a crapload of developing players and hopefully an amnestied Hedo with a new coach and guns blazing.

My main issue with this deal is that it would likely result in Amir being let go. Still, we really have to look at long term financial planning here and I'm seeing nothing but bigs in our draft range either.

In the draft, go full out on potential - size and athleticism. Right now my picks are Whiteside (we NEED an athletic beast center next to AB so you've got to role the dice with one of these picks) and this Paul George kid (our athletic 3) but really I think we should grab the best big that falls to our first pick, and the BPA at our second.

Next season -

Jose/JJ (would love to drop Jose for an expiring like Curry)
DD/Sonny
Hedo/George
Hill/Hayes
Bargnani/Whiteside

Mildly competitive but in the end - a good to great lotto pick.

Coming out of the lockout -

JJ/Lull
DD/Sonny (do we have right on Sonny?)
George
Bargnani/Hill
Whiteside

plus 2 first rounders, a significant amount of cap space, and the rights to Gorgeous Giorgios.

Houston makes a lot of sense but I'd hope to be getting battier would be great for the Raps young players and hopefully leadership, and would be a great asset to have at the deadline. Hill works and then a 1st and filler

Battier, Hill, 1st, Filler (Jefferies)

ideally Jose could be included too

Battier, Hill, Jefferies, Hayes and Anderson for Bosh and Jose works in the Trade Checker but i dont think you can package a S&T so it would have to be two seperate deals .

i'd rather get players or picks back for bosh. cap space is nice but we don't attract any good free agents. i mean, the biggest FA pickup we've had is hedo turkoglu. pretty sad.

If a sign+trade Bosh deal to Houston goes through and we do end up getting Battier (which I doubt would happen) - I'd keep him around until the deadline and then deal him to a contender for some picks. We won't be in the playoffs next year anyways, so, might as well get something for him before he expires.

I can't read through 29 pages so I am not sure if this has been brought up. How about this.

Bosh for Rashard Lewis and Marcin Gortat

Toronto can re-team Lewis and Turk with a low post center. I think Gortat can be an effective low post player given the minutes. You can either play Lewis at the four or play Bargnani at the four with Lewis off the bench. Or if you want to go big Have Gortat, Bargnani, Lewis, Turk, and Jack. Could be very effective.

I tried to scan this thread to see if the idea came up already.. I got to about page 15 and gave up.

Here's my (or possibly someone else's already) idea:

Peja Stojakovic $15,336,000 (1 yr left)
Emeka Okafor $11,540,375 (4 yrs left)
Darren Collison $1,361,040 (3 yrs left)
1st round pick

for

S&T Chris Bosh $17,400,000
Hedo Turkoglu $9,800,000 (4 yrs left)

Okafor is mediocre and has a massive contract (length). Well, so is Turkoglu and his contract. Bosh for Peja, Collison and a 1st rounder. Peja is an expiring, while adding Collison allows us to comfortably shop Calderon with an extra first round pick to add as incentive.

The only flaw (I realize this could be a dealbreaker) that I can see is that Bosh and David West play the same position.

That wouldn't be a dealbreaker imo. If they want Bosh and get him together with Paul, West has to be traded next for a center or a shooting guard. Nothing they can't fix.

same as above im not reading through 29 pages. My suggestion is either Bynum or Oden.

Bosh for Bynum and Sasha Vujacic

Bosh for Oden, Joel Przybilla and a 1st.

Bynum is injury prone but at least we get something and Bosh is not going a S&T to a crappy team.

Oden is injury prone as well but he will come off the books if he dosen't recover, and once again Bosh would go there.

Toronto needs a C and thats all there is too it.

Bargnani would look nice next to Bynum or Oden.

now we will have to deal with the hedo, calderon, jack problem also but would end up with something like. If DeRozan is the biting piece for someone to take Hedo you use it. I think someone will take Calderon. Maybe even LA woulds with Bosh. Trade the 12th pick with money and even whatever someone wants to move up and get Wesley Johnson.

Jack
Weems or ??????
Wesley Johnson
Andrea Bargnani
Greg Oden or Andrew Bynum

Heres an 3-team trade idea that could work to help sign bosh back

Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Toronto, New Orleans, and New Jersey being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Toronto, New Orleans, and New Jersey had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Toronto Trade Breakdown

Change in Team Outlook: +1.7 ppg, +1.2 rpg, and +4.6 apg.

Incoming Players

Emeka Okafor
6-10 PF / C from Connecticut
10.4 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 28.9 minutes

Devin Harris

I like that Bargs trade idea with Okafor and Harris coming back...NO would do that for sure I think, I don't know if NJ would want to throw in Williams though. But it's reasonable.

I also like the Bosh/Gobbler for Okafor/Peja/Collison idea..I was thinking just Bosh for Oka and Collison but getting rid of Gobbler would be great. But if NO refuses to take Hedo I would still do Bosh for Okafor/Collison/filler.

There are a lot of ideas out there involving getting multiple picks/young players, but this deal would give us a good young starting PG, a hard position to fill in this league.

A sign & trade deal that would see Bosh go to the team he chooses and ultimately have Okafor end up in T.O.

Bosh to wherever he chooses (NY/LA/Chicago/Houston/Dallas/Miami/?) for draft picks and possibly some expiring contracts to Toronto
Evans and late round draft picks (possibly) to Hornets
Okafor to Toronto

Bosh is going to pick where he wants to go, and most likely it will be a large market. The Raptors will have no choice in that.

I imagine the Hornets would be interested in dumping Okafor's contract. Okafor did not fit in N.O. - much like Shaq did not fit in Phoenix. Okafor is the anti-Bosh/anti-Bargnani in that he is not afraid of the paint! He'll take all of the pressure off Bargnani in terms of defense, and give the Raptors something they have not had since AD, Oakley, Willis - a big body in the paint!

I would try and package Calderon's contract with Bosh, if possible.

Lineup:
(C) Okafor 34mins
(PF) Bargnani 34mins (Johnson 28mins)
(SF) Turkoglu 34mins
(SG) Weems 28mins (DeRozan 28mins)
(PG) Belinelli 24mins (Jack 30mins)

I would start Belinelli at point. With Turkoglu handling the ball on offense, Belinelli would provide another shooter to spread the floor. On D, with the size the starters would present, they could essentially play a zone most of the time, or rotate off their coverage easily as it would be difficult for the opposition to find size mismatches.

Jack, Amir, & DD would provide instant energy and offense off the bench.

Aside from Turk, most of that team is very young, and would grow hopefully into a much stronger team.
