I don't remember any PLAN to play Smith at SF more, in fact I remember Drew shutting down that idea at the beginning of the season when asked about Smoove's weight loss. And Josh did not play half the season at SF last year......he played barely 11% of the total available minutes at SF in 2010-11. To even suggest that Collins somehow managed to not only start but play enough minutes for half a season is ludicrous in itself.
It's been well documented over the years about Josh's woes as a SF that necessitated the need for him to play the power position but some newcomers like to create their own fantasies and offer an entirely different account than the actual events that occurred in history. Fact is we've watched him get burned badly defensively against SFs like Melo and Durant this year because of his age old lack of lateral quickness and we've all figured that he can only thrive offensively at the position if he's paired with a PF that actually plays like an elite SF such as Dirk because you can't count on consistent shooting or ball handling by him.
Just a couple:
From Jeff Schultz
Yet, when the Hawks opened the gym following the NBA lockout, guess who was the first player to show up? Guess who lost 25 pounds this summer, changing his workouts, changing his diet, running in the Hollywood hills?
Guess who worked on his mid-range jumper — from 16 feet, not Neptune — and was determined to get faster and quicker so he could excel against the league’s small forwards, after seeing a lot of time at the 3-spot in the playoffs?

From CBSSports
The Hawks have talked some about moving him to small forward, which would allow him to use his size on smaller defenders.

I am not being "revisionist" but, apparently, you have been asleep.
