No one is UNTOUCHABLE on this team, but dwight. Your guys problem is, you fall in love with player to fast i have noticed. If getting Ellis keeps Dwight in a magic uni, u do it, no matter who u have to trade...period.

There is(are) reports Dwight is actively involved with Otis in these trade talks for other players. If he's signing off on staying here you basically give him the keys to the car at this point.

For being 53rd pick, still being on the team is usually good enough... to be getting the PT he's getting, and playing in 4th quarters even, that's bonus. Maybe consistent wasn't the right word. But he's playing, and playing alright minutes when he gets in.

I agree. He is getting more "meaningful" minutes than I ever thought he would during his first year. You all know Stan don't play rookies on their first year ;)

At this point why are we discussing anything accept trade? I saw a story where it says Dwight wants to sign with Jersey outright so they don't lose their decent pieces. Hense, he's trying to F over our franchise now, forget this Ellis crap and just trade him to a rental team. Dwight Howard is a cancer and I want him and his stupid Superman/ and Clark Kent glasses bs off the Magic. At least do it to take Hedo or Big Baby's bad contracts with him and have some free cap space. I can handle being bad for a couple seasons, what I can't stand is the idea of Magic management just letting this piece of garbage dictate absolutely everything. Trade him for something, get him to Jersey where his teams still won't be better than Miami or Chicago or Atlanta, and after a couple rough years the Magic will be better too, but he can have his precious shoe money...bye bye Mr. "Christian." He's such a fraud.

LOL....

Edit: What does him wanting to put himself in a better situation have to do with him being a good Christian? Is he leaving us for a brothel or something? Religious nuts are great...

I think we should start preparing for life after Dwight. I mean I can only go by the evidence I see before me. And what is the only thing that's been 100% consistent during this whole ordeal? The fact that from day one dude has been saying he wants to go to THE NETS. The meeting in russia over the summer, the meeting in Miami, The Adidas marketing push. Dwight has been saying from day one what and where he wants to go and this last article is the cherry on top. Lets stop being delusional and start looking at the plain evidence (which is what we have to go by) and lets start talking about what we can do to start rebuilding this team. Cuz until the "Man of Steel" decides to sack up and say "I'm Staying in Orlando" I'm giving him the LeBron and Melo treatment.

JJ is 27 and hasnt been able to win a starting SG spot. He is a role player, a good one, but a role player with not much more upside. Anderson is seen as being benefited by playing next to Dwight and not as good as his numbers seem. I disagree, but that is how he is viewed.

The way the fans/media view a player isn't exactly on par with the way GMs think.

not sure if this really matters but i'm sure it's relevant in some ways, but Alex Martins emailed all magic staff members and ticket reps and gave them monday and tuesday off. They are on a road trip, but maybe they want to regroup and prepare for something crazy? or maybe i'm just thinking into it too much lol

Don't believe the hype, there are reports that Howard is in active talks with the Magic about wanting to stay and players he wants. These moves by the magic are a direct action based on those talks.

I think GMs and coaches value Jameer much more than we fans do. Of all the guys on the team, I think he is the most underrated trade piece we have.

We won't know forsure unless he's (Ryno) traded and the type of talent we get in return...

Don't be fooled though, every GM in the league knows he's playing alongside Dwight.. Can Otis sell high is the question.

JJ is one of a kind, find me another player in the league averaging 11.4pts, 2.2reb, 2.1ast on 43%-45% shooting, you cant

He's right though, not trading Dwight at this point just makes New Jersey a much better destination.

N Ireland Nets,

I had trouble with the quotes. UGHHHHH!

I just do not think Lopez would be the right guy to pair with Dwight and Deron.

They could fit Deron, Howard and Ellis with a little tinkering (Send picks to take other players as filler in deal) and maybe Dwight or Deron taking a tad less less but it would really be a tight squeeze and they probably want to be sure to get Dwight. We also do not know the exact cap yet.

In this new CBA, it's going to be hard to have 3 max or near max players. You make a lot of good points.

On Orlando, it's going to be hard for them to make a deal anyway. I still do not think dealing Anderson for Ellis will improve them that much and other moves would have to be made.

We will see what happens.

Hearing inside info regarding Dwight meeting w/ Otis Smith this week to make some major moves to bring Monte Ellis and David Lee to Orlando.

Excellent post and right on point. But delusion is part of being a fan and thats exactly what these types of situations lead to.

The Lebron saga took it to another level when he announced he was gonna make his decision on national TV.

"There is no way his gonna get on TV and just **** on his old team, he has to be staying"
or
" Ohhh look his making all the suitors come to him in Akron. He MUST be staying"

Its sad but its the truth.

Am I the only one who thinks Ellis would be Plutonium to this team?
