He is kid with a body that still grows, and he has already played almost as many basketball games in 3,5 months as he played in the whole last season. Not to mention that the competition is much better, the speed and strength of the game are in a completely different level. That's quite taxing for a 19 year old player adjusting into a new league.

Thank god they're the only ones one the team worth keeping besides Zaza and Middleton . The rest of them can all be the franchise player on some D-league team as far as I'm concerned !

I completely agree! It's just interesting to me that his teammates cant be excited for a 19 year old kid while trying to build him up and help him out in his transition instead of getting jealous and acting like pricks.

Btw, Giannis' greek agents gave a big, insightful interview in the greek All star basket magazine. It came out one week ago and I thought about translating it (I'm greek) but then got lazy. Has anyone seen anything like that in the past week in the Bucks-related media and blogs or should I quit slacking and start translating?

No one's posted anything on the forum. If it's on the NBA Greece website I could bring it up and use Google translate but it would be sweet to get a more accurate translation if you were inclined.

It's on a printed magazine, not NBA Greece. I'll give it a shot, it's a great read about how his agents discovered him, how he lived in Greece, how european and NBA teams thought of him etc. It's about 7k words and 10 printed pages with pictures etc.

Sorry, I read that but then when replying I thought of the article's content being made available through nba.gr. But it'd definitely be appreciated if you wanted to and think it's worth sharing. I know that many would appreciate seeing his agent's detailed insights.

And these are the veteran leaders and good locker room guys we brought in to "change the culture".

Caron saying he wanted to help the franchise long-term has been further revealed to be a ploy for $ from a new contract that he wouldn't have gotten elsewhere. There's no way he isn't one of the guys calling Gianni this name.

He isn't going to "earn" that contract if "the Franchise" plays ahead of him and he's going to have to rely on his fast food franchise(s), not Kohl for his future source of cash flow. I wouldn't trust him in a future ownership or management position either. Let him go after this season has ended, if he isn't traded.

I'm disgusted by the journalism that Gery Woelfel has been peddling this season, in favor of certain players and disregarding others to fuel his agenda. If the local basketball media wasn't so pathetic and apathy high, he would have been canned already. Hopefully, he's done in the near future.

Unless his personality is the exact opposite of the way he is portrayed, how in the grand f*ck could anyone dislike Giannis?

I'm not making an excuse for ANYONE ,but I'm pretty sure if we had 40 wins right now all the nonsense going on with the Bucks would be gone or at a minimum . I'm pretty sure the bickering and personal attacks on this board would still continue no matter how many wins this team had .

He's probably getting a bit of fatigue from the season. Throw in some teammates calling him the "the Franchise" (out of envy) and his participation in All-Star weekend coming up. He'll get it together again, maybe not tonight or even during the AS competitions because of timing but this is just a little slump. All of the shots he's missing have been good attempts, plenty of shots that could've went in.

Are the words in parentheses your opinion or has that been mentioned elsewhere?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

It came from Woelfel that the nickname wasn't being used in an "endearing" manner. Which leads to it obviously being a negative name-calling situation and why would Gianni get that treatment but out of envy of his spotlight? And people have talked about it elsewhere on the forum. The discussion here is how I learned about it and multiple people heard him make the claim.

This board didn't show up fat, play no defense, lazily jog ineffectively about the court, and then complain about his playing time. OJ Mayo did.

This board didn't show up fat, play no defense, selfishly shoot turnaround jumpers, not pass to his teammates, and then complain about his playing time. Caron Butler did.

This board didn't show up disgruntled, obviously not want to be here, and play their way to 3rd on the depth chart behind a mid 2nd round rookie from South Dakota State while refusing to pass to our best young player and potential future star. Luke Ridnour did.

We are bad because the very people who are complaining were the people we were relying on to put us in contention for the playoffs and they showed up out of shape, gave minimal effort, and failed on the court. To a man (other than Zaza) they had a bad attitude before they even got here that definitely contributed to their lack of performance once they arrived. Every one of them has earned their spot on the bench.

The idea that their attitude is only bad is because the team is losing is ridiculous when the team is losing because they couldn't be bothered to give minimal effort, show up in shape, and play team basketball

I would love to bring back Stackhouse and Kurt Thomas. I don't care how old or washed up either of them are, Both great guys and some of the best lockeroom people over the last decade. Stackhouse an assistant somewhere yet?

I just hope Giannis internalizes some of the crap from these old crap vets and uses it as motivation to come back next year vastly improved and ready to kick ass and tell them to stfu in practice. He is a sweet kid and I like his innocence but he eventually needs to take the next step mentally and realize he is the boss and carry himself that way.
