Re: Lonzo Ball
To all the guys claiming Ball's shot will be blocked at the NBA level, pray tell me who is blocking jumpers on a regular basis other than Kawhi. PG defense is non-existent at the NBA level these days and Ball will get his quite easily IMO.
My concern is his basic handles and lack of shake. How can people compare him to Jason Kidd and Nash with those handles smh.

It's because teams in the NBA don't put in players that get blocked. Usually if a player thinks they could get blocked shooting a three they don't take it. And then they end up taking 3 shots all game. Rookies do end up getting blocked the most.

Re: Lonzo Ball
His Dad is a tool but he's a proud papa and wants what's best for his son. Maybe he feels Lonzo would be more comfortable playing in LA to he can be around his family. Maybe that's even what Lonzo has said but doesn't want to say these things himself. Has anyone considered that? We barely know these kids after all. The real test will be once LAL loses the draft lottery and doesn't have a 1st. What then? Would Dad stfu and let his son be drafted #1 overall? Would he keep yapping trying to facilitate a trade between whoever was going to take him and LAL (maybe LAL trading future picks, Ingram, etc)? It's def a distraction but we have to at least consider that Lonzo himself feels this way and is smart enough not to say these things himself.

Ball was unreal tonight
He is so gifted, he sees what is happening, and what will happen.
Not to mention sharing ball duties with holiday and Alford. He is the top pick

USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Agreed. He's the best player in the draft. I hope the Sixers can get him. He and Simmons would be great. The passing would be unreal.

lonzo ball is such a rare floor general talent
hope he stays in LA
i honestly could care less about his oustside shooting compared to free throws. like he really just needs to take the free points when he can.

You think so? I understand why some might think so but honestly I think both need their ball in their hands to be effective.

Re: Lonzo Ball
Ball has become my #1, perhaps because I've soured on Fultz a lot over the past few weeks. Lonzo possesses that rare quality that makes him team substantially better (think LeBron, Magic, Chris Paul)
My only concern is that he doesn't project as an elite scorer, so assuming that his ceiling is Chris Paul. That is an amazing player, but Chris Paul with his 'relative lack' of scoring hasn't been able to carry his team in the off seasons. Star player scoring is #1 in the playoffs, passing #2.

huh? Ball needs the ball in his hands? It's pretty much the exact opposite. He barely has the ball in his hands because he's setting teammates up. He always seems to be a in a rush to get rid of it tbh. Ball is the best player in this draft. Any G.M. that passes on him is going to regret it.

What I think people underestimate is the fact that ball is sharing the backcourt with two other high usage players in holiday and alford.
The fact that he is a gifted lead guard and selflessly works with these two players is amazing! That's mangementnof egos!
He is making sure the coaches son gets his, and a younger brother of a NBA player does as well. That's hard to do. That's a unmeasurable quality to have in a player, and to have it in your pg is the best.
My biggest knock is that he is TOO unselfish. That he over passes. That he doesn't look for his own enough. The fear is that he gets his shot blocked over and over and refuses to shoot, and degrades into Rubio/rondo. It he has elite NBA range. And elite playmaking.

You don't maximize Lonzo's skills when you play him off ball.

I say there's a difference between being the primary playmaker and being a ball-dominant player although not seldomly players want/need to be both in order to maximize their impact. Lonzo should absolutely be the primary playmaker but he can do it in a offensive system predicated on off-ball movement and passing similar to what UCLA is doing. In such a system he would touch the ball frequently but it wouldn't stick in his hands for extended periods.

Really hope the Knicks can find a way to land him and pair him with Porzingis. Currently they are tied for 6th worst and falling, so it's not that outlandish to see them netting that pick. I don't think the dad and family would raise any stink if he got to play in the leagues top market given their aspirations from a marketing standpoint.

unless you somehow convince melo that boston is the place to be

Well, someone has to win the lottery. The odds are heavily against any individual team of doing so (Boston included) and there have been way bigger surprises on lotto night than the Knicks winning this year (or getting a top 3 in general) would be. They will probably have a bottom 5 record by seasons end. All the mocks I've seen have ball going behind fultz. I have not seen fultz play though.

Don't need to. The Knicks are garbage. We'll probably end with like the 5th or 6th best odds. At that point anything is possible. Plus Ball+Knicks will be amazing. Its his best fit imo.

If Isaiah at 5'9 can shoot over defenders regularly, I'm not overly concerned about Ball's ability to do so. He's nine inches taller. PGs at 6'6 aren't going to need to worry about that much.

I still think the Suns is his best fit imo. The great thing with the Knicks and KP is all of these guys fit extremely well. DSJ could be a great fit running the pick n roll or pick n pop with him. I think teams would have a really hard time stopping that duo. Fultz is a great fit because KP needs another scorer to go alongside of him.
