Not surprised. These guys are all Warriors fans come playoff time. Would expect nothing less from a Californian.

Rather gamble on Russell.

Skip is a giant piece of turd, if he says they're making the playoffs, which in asinine to begin with, you know that pick will be good.

I like Lonzo, but his game is too reliant on transition for him to have any sustained success imo. Has very little inbetween game and can't really create his own shot

I can't wait until the real games start. The Lakers are still a bottom 5 team to me. The nets are likely still a bottom 3 team. People can hype summer league all they want but it doesn't always indicate future success.

Agree. IMO, he will have a positive impact on total team play as that type of passing is infectious. I would love to have him on the Celts, but, if Tatum becomes the scorer he is billed to become, he likely will be the better player. Had they 2 top 5 picks, I certainly would have been pumped to have Ball.

It will come down to defense. PG's are going to torch him in pick and roll or ISO so he has to be that more impactful on offense.

Yah, Lakers will be terrible. They are replaying a summer league Laker game now and I just watched Ball brick a 3 on one end, and then get crossed over and destroyed on the other end. He's going to get shredded in the real games. People are going to target him, just based on all the cockiness with his dad and stuff.

I can't wait to see how many Laker games get aired on national TV. My guess is it will be Cavs, Warriors, and Lakers as top 3 teams with the most games. There's going to be some smothering pressure on that kid.

Honestly, all I want this season is for him to hit spot-up threes along with being a good passer in halfcourt, while still being amazing in transition. I expect some god-awful shooting percentages, at least this year. He really needs to develop the Steve Nash floater shot to make up for his lack of a midrange shot.

Although would it be trolling for me to say the same thing about Jayson Tatum when it comes to efficiency this year (but for a different reason)? He seemed to love taking those contested jumpers in summer-league, and that doesn't seem like a recipe for high efficiency.

I still think he ends up being a good player. But, Kidd was stronger and a better defender as a rookie. Even with KCP , they will be one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

Read on Twitter

Jeff Green, Jose Calderon, Derrick Rose. Lost David Griffin. Dangled Love and Irving in trades. Might lose Lebron in a year.

The cavs are kinda falling arpart quickly, but i do like if DRose signs there. Not for us, but as a bball fan.

They keep getting these old heads who fit next to lebron. But they need some ppl who don't need Lebron. James can't have the ball in his hands the whole 40 mins he's on the court. & Outside of Irving, no one on the damn team can get into the lane.

Yes Rose isn't great anymore. He's not super efficient, doesn't have the modern game. But if your telling him to backdoor while running the 2nd team with James, so you can always keep 2 creators on the court at once? It'll help a lot. I don't get why Cle continues to go older washed up vets. This is a nice change (if it happens).

I believe Tatum will have easier time cause hes playing with IT, Hayward and Horfie- all of em score the ball very efficiently and pass well too. For the most part he will be 3-4th on opponents priority list, whike he got double teamed in SL(Vegas).

Hype's huge with Ball. Interesting to see how it goes. Wonder if hes working on PnR he seems to sit a lot at the top of the key. Also would he interesting to see if the shots start falling.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.
