Do you enjoy picking out individual sentences from entire statements to disagree with? I can't understand the enjoyment of that
Well I picked that out because it seemed you were useing your 8-14 per baramoeter as another way of saying 2nd tier FA. And as such I felt your reference was contradictory when we did indeed make Graham the highest paid TE in the league last year which I felt would fit your idea that it's better to go for the big fish with the only real difference being TEs simply dont make as much as other positions

I didnt mean to come off as if I were dismissing the rest of your post. It seems your talking about "nickle and diming yourself to death" and would prefer to swing big and while I can see the argument to an extent I believe it's much more about getting value for the position

I'm convinced that the way to kill yourself in free agency is those guys in the 8-14 mil range.

Leveon bell at 20 mil a year (which he probably gets) is too much, but at a minimum you get a guaranteed impact and difference maker for that money.

You can also pay Cobb and Graham that same amount combined, and get literally nothing.

When you get above $15 mil it's GENERALLY for guys who obviously deserve it. Unless they're one of the first 3 signings of the year (see Malik Jackson / Oliver Vernon).

And those middle priced guys - you never have a quick enough trigger to move on from them. Graham only costs us what $8 mil this year - he was injured last year, had a good attitude (NO HE F"ING LOST A STEP AND SUCKS BECAUSE OF THAT).

New England isn't out signing guys in that 8-14 mil range. They're going bargain shopping for numbers figuring some of these guys are gonna hit.

The analogy I'd make is to the Tony Snell tier of FA that the Bucks continued to screw up on year after year. Go big or go home.

That's it. Cobb and Graham were so obviously Tony Snell the average fan could tell.

I'm not sure what you guys are getting at but if its "go big or go home" Graham was the top TE on the market and we made him the highest paid TE in the league last year. Cobb was arguably the best slot receiver in the league at the time and we paid him as such.

Those were the types of moves your now advocating for

Honestly your better off comparing the Graham signing to the Bucks signing Monroe

8.5 sacks while only playing 67% of the total defensive snaps. Nice.

It was fun to walk next door to the Bears fan in the office and and ask, "Is Adrian Amos good?"

"Yes."

"Cool, the Packers just signed him too."

Is Smith strictly a pass rusher? Can he play in coverage and against the run at all? I know the Ravens D last year was top notch but ZDS wasnt a familiar name for me. I love that hes only 26 and had 8.5 sacks on a stacked D in his situational role. Can he be more than that tho or are we bringing him in to be what he already is?

On a side note; Kinda weird to me Baltimore is dismantling the way they are. That division is wide open now with the Bengals being a joke, Pittsburgh taking a step back and Cleveland still being a work in progress. Wonder why Baltimore didnt have the opposite approach and want to bring in more talent to be in better position to win the division. I suppose they can regardless but that D has taken a significant hit so far.

Always have to see the numbers but a hell of a start. Maybe a few more small additions and bring on the draft.

Hope they get a good Breeland deal also.

Does anyone know the numbers for their contracts? Nice that both are young, so the chances of getting injured are lower and we can keep the D together for some years. Good job!

I hate you guys for signing Smith and Amos. Both of them would´ve been ideal for the G-men.
